InkTober 3rd 2017

InkTober caused me a moment today.  I began with an idea in mind and started to draw it ….  kind of liked it … but not enough.  So I scrapped it and decided on something different instead. Don’t you hate it when that happens?

Its like knitting … and getting eight rows in then realising that you made a mistake on row 2 so having to pull it all back and re-knit. grrrr!

So anyhoo ...  this is what I ended up painting….

… but .. that’s not everything …

The photo above was taken with the desk lamp as lighting, but the next photo is taken with the flash on the camera …  and it shows you what the photo above can’t….   that I broke open the Kuretake, Gansai Tambi Starry paints (watercolours) – for just the one colour – White Gold, – so that I could use a teeny tiny bit around the edges of the moon, and onto the clouds.  And this next photo, taken with the flash, shows you the difference that this one colour can make …

It just gives the moon and clouds a more magical feeling.  Slightly more depth.  And … well, I just had-ta!  lol.

The apparent ‘bend’ on the left hand side of the painting, isn’t a wonky bit of water-colour paper, it’s actually how the paper dried.  I’ll bury it between the pages of a book, weighted down by a couple of book, and it will then magically become flat again.

The pens used to create this bit of Inktober Art are by Kuretake, apart from one Sakura Gelly Roll Ink Pen, in white, which I used to add some ‘moon shine’ hi-lights to the trees and parts of the landscape.Pen

So far I’m quite enjoying InkTober  . . .  it’s a bit like doodling, only trying a bit harder.  But I can see me getting tired of black a bit quickly.  But that might just be me wishing to break out and crack open the bottles of blue and brown ink which sit on the side of my desk.  I wonder if that would be against the rules.  I mean to say … it’s still ink, isn’t it?  I could rather go for a nice inky denim blue drawing.  Or a fabulous vintage looking brown bit of fun!

Ahhh .. I’ll be good as long as I can .. then I’ll break the rules and be naughty.  lol.

Thank you for coming for a visit and sharing your coffee moment with me.  I just LOVE seeing you here.  Blog land has turned out to be one of the nicest places on the web.  I’m not sure what I expected when I began The Cobweborium Emporium – certainly not being part of such a great community of bloggers who are truly amazing, and so very talented!  Cooks, Knitters, Writers, Bakers, Farmers, Artists in a variety of forms, and .. well just genuinely nice people.  I’m SO glad that I began this blog, for without it I wouldn’t ever have even known that you existed.  And that thought alone is SO painful to my heart, because I love knowing you.  Truly.

Thank you for being exactly who you are.  For who you are is  . . . perfect.  I tried you on and you fit perfectly, and I love you for it.

Have a truly great day out there!  Sending squidges ~ as always …

Author: The Art of Cobwebs - aka:- thecobweboriumemporium

Hello. I'm 'Cobwebs'. I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck! This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium. I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form. One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'. Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows. I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course). I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash. Thank you so much for visiting. Please visit my blog (link below) and have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy, even if it's only a handful of jokes! (yes, seriously - there really are jokes!) Wishing you a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. <3

    1. The feeling is entirely mutual Tam.
I am so blessed and enriched by knowing you.
While I’ve got your attention …I’m a little behind on whizzing around blogs .. as fast as I seem to be catching up, I seem to be increasingly standing still. So if I’m missing any new posts .. I’m getting to them … eventually! (sorry if I’m a few days late.)

Thrilled you like the painting and the starry night sky.

  2. Do not ask about my InkTober picture today…or tomorrow!!! I take that back…tomorrow may work. I have opened all of my new supplies as well as the Fall decorations that I bought. And a few small Christmas items. Plus a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup…for energy when I work on the ink drawing! From Kinder who is wondering when Chicken’s InkTober contribution is going to appear!?!

    1. Well .. Chickens InkTober contribution may not appear yet … as she has some exciting news! A new grandbaby has been born and she’s off to meet him today!!!

It may take her a while to come back down. 🙂

Don’t expect the world to happen Kinder. Remember you’ve been more than a bit poorly and still have challenges which you are coping with.

I think you’re amazing, and anything you produce will be amazing too. You might not be overly impressed but you’re not the best judge at the moment. We all judge ourselves critically, when in fact other people see the bit of art work way differently than you do, and we can see the effort which has been put into the piece of art which is being offered to us to see.

    1. Aww thanks Hannah.
I love those Starry Colours by Kuretake. They make such a difference, and with such a light hand too.

I’m a bit behind and trying to catch up with blogging posts … so if there’s 1/2/3 posts of yours that I’ve missed … I will be there eventually. I promise.
I’m just making my way through the Reader whenever I have a moment to do so.

      1. Ah, alas you haven’t missed any of my posts but I have just blogged my first 3 Inktober drawings!

It is so hard to keep up with the Reader. It moves on so quickly. Unless I check it thoroughly everyday I get so behind. Hxx

        1. Ohh, if only. I would give it away freely and as much as needed.
Perhaps we all need to join together and heal the world as a group. All of us, around the world.
I’m sure it would work if we all tried hard enough.

    1. The White Gold … I love the colour so much. I cannot recommend those Kuretake paints highly enough. They’re one of the best craft discoveries I’ve made. They take my breath away each and every time I use them.

Thrilled you like the #Inktober 3rd painting Nancee. ~ C.
