Believe

I visited the Kuretake website  (crafty goodies manufacturer) a couple of days ago.  They’d updated their website and I couldn’t get into my account, so a quick call to their office sorted out the problem for me, and I got the new website address.  As the page loaded there was a handmade card on the site which caught my eye, and I thought I’d have a go at making my version of that card … and here it is.

Believe 3 a

The die cut word, ‘Believe’ was one of a choice of two different makes of dies that I have which say the same thing, but in different ways ….

Believe die cuts a

I cut them both out so that I could actually see what each of them looked like on the front of the card.  I chose the Creative Expressions die – which I’ve had about a year and never, until this moment, used it!  (No idea why … it’s so pretty, and cuts really well).

You’ve heard me say before that I’m a crafter, not a photographer – and these photo’s prove that I’m telling the truth.  They do nothing to show you how pretty this card actually is.  So I’ve taken some close-ups to try to share some of the details...

Believe the word 1

Once I’d die cut the word, I used a fine nibbed glue pen and added some crystal glitter to the whole of the word.  I worried at first that it might look a little Christmassy, but I wanted something to ‘speak’ to the silvery painted feather – and this worked really well.

Believe 2 a
Painted in Gansia Tambi paints, in the  ‘Starry Colours’ selection.  These paints are all made by Kuretake.

Each feather is painted a different colour.  One silver (in the centre) and the remaining two feathers are painted in different colours of the Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints, ‘Starry Colours’.  The feathers were die cut using a set of Todo feathers dies.

I added gold sequins … and a string ‘bow’ (very fine string) ….

Believe 1 a

. . .  And that’s all there was to it!

I did share the link to the Kuretake a couple of weeks ago, but they’ve changed their website, so I offer the updated link just in case you can’t find it:—>  Kuretake.

I highly recommend this company.  Their products are second to none, and their customer service is the best.  I’ve been shopping with them for …  oh …  practically since dirt was invented, and I’ve visited the companies UK branch, when they used to have yearly sales there.  I’ve contacted them from time to time for information, help or advice and each time I was breathtakingly amazed at how truly wonderful all the members of staff are there.

Please know: …. I’m not employed by Kuretake, I’m not paid in any way and have not been given any products in order to recommend the products or the company.

Everything I own is because I bought them in exactly the same way that you or anyone else can buy them.  I only recommend them as much as I do, because I’m SO impressed with the quality of all of the products I have (and I have a lot), and love the customer service I receive from this company.

I’ve been doing a bit of crafting this week and also trying to keep on top of all the blogs I follow.  I’m still having the odd problem with my reader — I’ll think I’m up to date and suddenly there appears a post from ‘A’ and another from ‘B’  in the middle of all the posts and blogs I’ve already visited!  eek!  So … if you’ve posted something and I’ve missed it and not commented when you know I normally would have, please give me a poke in the comments here and give me a link to the post so that I can catch up.

May I take this opportunity to say a warm  ‘Hello‘  to some new followers.  I won’t name you individually … but I welcome you in and sit you down at the table while I get you a coffee (or tea) and bring out the cakes and biscuits.  Please feel right at home to join in the conversations we have here.  We’re a noisy lot sometimes and we all like a bit of a giggle from time to time, but we love new people joining in.  Don’t be shy.  Just jump straight in and say hello … or comment on a post…  or include yourself in a conversation which is going on in the comments.  Please don’t be shy…  speak up and make new friends.  It’s how it works here.

Have a blessed rest of your day today, (Thursday).  Enjoy it – for it is the last day of August this year.  So make it a memorable day.  And … if you can at all ….  Make someone smile today.

Sending squidges your way ~

Author: The Art of Cobwebs - aka:- thecobweboriumemporium

Hello. I'm 'Cobwebs'. I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck! This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium. I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form. One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'. Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows. I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course). I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash. Thank you so much for visiting. Please visit my blog (link below) and have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy, even if it's only a handful of jokes! (yes, seriously - there really are jokes!) Wishing you a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. <3

    1. Ohhhh I’m SO glad that you found Versailles to watch there. Yes … [nodding] .. now you know why I kind of pushed that bit of knowledge about the goings on. lol.

I’ve been a bit poorly .. but I’m kind of functioning, – hence the reason why my blog is missing posts, and I still haven’t got back to you about that thing we were yacking about. But I will. I promise. (holds pinky finger up to endorse the promise).

We finely have some rain…not the terrible rain others have had just a steady ,lovely rain that makes me sleepy. I did manage to take photos of cards made with new stamps but that will…well maybe…come later.
Please pray for Texas and La and south Mississippi and oh goodness…a new storm is coming up the pike and we need to get #3 home before it does it’s thing. Four weeks is more than enough for a daddy to be gone.
    Until later….xoxo

    1. Your country as a whole is in my prayers for more than one reason, Bev. And yes, I shall add No.3 to my list too. I agree, a month is more than enough time for little ones to be parted from Daddy and a wife to be parted from her husband.
But let’s not forget a Mom parted from her son.
No… he needs to come home, and he needs to come home now.

Naturally you are always in my prayers, dear friend.
I’m sorry I’ve not been the sparkling thing I normally am, chatting away etc. I’ve been a little under the weather and today began bad … but things are a little easier now so here I am … just like the proverbial penny. lol.

Please stay safe Beverly. If the rains become more of a threat … get you and Babe out of there and somewhere safe.
Be safe my beautiful friend. xxx

      1. Love you. Babe and I are fine. We are on a hill and rain isn’t the worry..it’s wind but so far so good.
Take care of yourself and I’m sending prayers for you too. Copper is in demand so don’t knock the lowly penny. lol

  3. So sorry you are not feeling your best. Your card is beautiful! I love that die cut! The word is perfect for every day life! I love it! What a week this has been! I have family and friends in the Houston area, and thank goodness they are all safe. Property can be replaced, lives cannot. On Saturday, my niece’s car was totaled. It was parked in front of her parents house and a neighbor hit it, knocking it down the street in front of the neighbor’s house. Luckily, no one was hurt. The lady that hit her had her three small children in the car. The bad news is that she did not have insurance. My poor niece had just refinanced the car, and now owes more that the insurance company is going to pay for the totaled car. The adjuster stopped righting his estimate at $12,000 of damage! The lady’s vehicle license places were also expired. She was give several tickets from the accident. She had to be speeding when she hit the car. The speed limit is only 25mph, and there are a lot of small kids on the block. She claimed a cat ran out in front of her. My sister doubts that, but can’t prove it. As I said, luckily, no one was hurt. Hopefully, things will turn out okay for her. My husband has had jury duty this week, and was picked on a jury. He was in a pretty bad mood this week as he couldn’t play golf. Oh well, he has 363 other days to play! Hah! I have been so busy at work that I haven’t had time to finish two birthday cards! I’ve had to work some at night from home just to get caught up on some things. So….I decided to take tomorrow off! Now I have four days off in a row!!! It will seem like a vacation! Hopefully I can get those two cards done now….if my mojo comes back! Speaking of those cards….I better get going and at least try to come up with something! LOL! Happy Thursday to you! 🙂

    1. Oh …. flipping heck Nancee, you’ve had a shocker of a week!

Your relatives in the Houston area …I’m so thankful to hear that they are all fine and well. I’ve watched the news on TV here in the UK and I know only too well that things could have been very different for your relatives.

Your nieces car … I feel so dreadfully sorry for her and her situation.

Driving without Insurance, in my coutry, is a serious offence and against the law. People have ended up in jail for having no insurance, or a the very least a hefty fine. Could your niece take the lady neighbour to court in order to get her to pay at least something towards the damage (and the stress) of the written off car and the financial problems that now face your niece?

This ‘accident’ sounds very strange. For her to not only have driven into your nieces car, but then continue to push that car down the street … she HAD to be going fast, and, in my opinion, something sounds fishy about the whole thing. Normally, she would have hit the car and stopped. She didn’t. So my thoughts make me ask the question … Was she breathalised at the scene? Were the Police called, and if so did they perhaps smell any alcohol on her or even suspect that it could be down to that?

The Jury Duty and Grumpy Hubby … tell him that he’s doing the country a great service and he should give up acting like a little boy who’s had his toy taken off him. Can you imagine their reaction towards us if we got grumbly about not being able to craft for a week?

Aw Nancee, I hope your mojo returns. Perhaps you just need to surround yourself with crafty goodies and just play with them for half an hour – just to get your mind back on the right tracks again.
Sending Crafty Vibes your way, and squidges, obviously! lol

      1. I am so glad my friends and relatives are safe. It will be some time before their lives return to normal.

It is also illegal to drive without insurance here, too. She will have to go to court because if that. She will receive a fine, lose her license and license plates, and have to prove she gets insurance and keeps it in force continuously for three years or her license will be revoked. As far as payment for the damages, my niece’s insurance company will go after her for reimbursement for the money that the pay plus my niece’s deductible. My niece can also take her to court for the difference in what she gets paid and what she owes in the car. The accident happened around 10:00am and she didn’t appear to be under the influence but we are wondering if she was in her phone or texting. We know she had to be speeding!

I told my husband to just get over it. It was only 3 days. 😂

I’m hoping my mojo comes back soon! I have been looking at Pinterest to get some ideas. Hoping to get back to card making today! Happy weekend! 😀

        1. I’m thankful that everyone in your family is safe. Yes .. it will take time to get things back to normal again. I hope they get plenty of help and support.

“Get over it” … LOVE IT! LOLOLOL. Bless him.

I agree with you about the lady who destroyed your nieces car .. she HAD to be speeding in order to push that car down the road in the way she did.
And yes.. if not drinking, then she might well have using her phone/texting. Something distracted her so badly that she wasn’t watching the road.

I hope your niece doesn’t suffer financially because of that silly woman.

Pinterest … that great Mojo Finder on the net. Go for it Nancee. SEEK AND FIND THAT MOJO!

  4. Its a beautiful card – I love the glitter on the word ‘believe’ and the feathers so pretty much the whole thing! My wordpress reader seems to messing around. I’ll have an email notification of a new post but when I open my reader to catch up I can’t find it. On other occasions it will decide that I am not allowed to write anything. I take the hint at that point and do something else. The best way to catch up is on the app on my phone but then its all so tiny………. I’m perhaps hard to please! Hxx

    1. I know about the WordPress Gremlins which are a bit of a pain to all of us I think. I seems to do different things to different blogs. With me, it’s swapping around and I’m so concerned that I’m not reading blog posts that are there but I don’t know about them if WordPress isn’t showing me the new blog posts in my reader.

Thrilled you like the card Hannah.

  5. OMGosh this week has been so hectic for me. I am finally catching up. Glad to have my coffee with you this morning… Titanic! =) ❤ who doesnt love that story…. I went a couple of years ago to see the Titanic exhibit with my mom. It was so intesting and it was amazing that any of that was still intact after all those years under the oceans. I have always been a bit infactuated by the story. Right now that exhibit is in Vegas but when I saw it it was in Beuna Park, Ca. It was pretty awesome, They didnt allow pictures unfortunately. =) I hope all is fantastic with you!!!. Thanks for the fun read!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo ❤ Tam

    1. Hello Tam
Gosh … you are like a whirling gust of fabulous wind after a too hot day. You’ve blown all the cobwebs out and I now have a sparkling room. Obviously .. that’s only until the dust settles, but for five minutes it’s looking great!
      LOLOL
Titanic … such a tragic loss of lives, (1,503 lives, women, men and children) but there is the romantic twist which the movie gave it which makes it looks different. There were some really sad stories of newly weds, and of ladies who were expecting their first children… men who had been given a seat on a lifeboat but gave up their seat for little children to be saved instead. (I learnt about the Titanic in school – can you tell? lol)

Thrilled to see you Tam, and that you managed a coffee with me. Bless your heart.
Now … slow down young lady or you’ll wear the soles of your shoes out, … or your brain cells will go on strike. lol

        1. Whoo hooo! at the watercolours!!

I cannot wait for you to try them. Just play with them to start with, so that you just get comfy. Make some backgrounds. DON’T throw away anything you make, keep it. Date it on the back, and keep it in a folder (once dried- give it over-night) and then you’ll be able to see how far you’ve ‘travelled’ in the new magic you’re making.

Good luck with the new store placement. What does the store sell Tam? (Wouldn’t it be wonderful if it was a craft store?? Ohhhh, heaven! LOL)

            1. OOoo Wal-mart… that’s the US version of what is our Asda. Wal-mart own Asda. BUT … we don’t have the mahoosive stores that you have. Ours are smaller, still with a selection of good stuff though. In fact .. I was there just this morning.

I needed some new everyday cutlery and guessed they’d have the sort of thing I was looking for. They did and at a great price too. I’m chuffed to bits!

I’d love to have a wander around your store though. It would be an experience that I think I’d enjoy – although it might take me all day! LOL.
