Page One

. . . .  not the home page,  simply the beginning of a journey.

Welcome to The Cobweborium Emporium, where crafting and handmade items are the main event.

stands up;
links hands in front of herself;
looks down at her shoes
Feels the start of a hot blush coming to her cheeks.
Takes a deep breath in and says loud and proud  . . .

“Hello my name is Cobwebs,  and I’m a Crafter.”

There, that’s my confession out of the way,    –  now we can all sit down, have tea and coffee and eat cakes!

I’ve been a arty farty crafty all my life.  From painting on a large scale, (spring flowers in a grassy meadow – on a school reception wall), right down to very small scale ATC’s which are miniature works of heart measuring just  2 1⁄2 by 3 1⁄2 inches (or 64 mm × 89 mm in metric measurements).

Amongst many things I love to craft, make and work with,  are:

  • hand crafted greeting cards.
  • needle felting so relaxing – and amazing too!  But painful if you get a bit cocky and look at the TV while doing it.  (don’t do that – it hurts!);
  • Ranger Melting Pot  known here in the Emporium as  ‘The Cauldron‘.
  • Polymer Clay –  from the tiniest of flowers and Fairy Shoes (yes – fairy sized shoes) all the way up to long 12″ in length wands, a mixture of wood and clay and various ‘adornments’.

But  . . .   there’s more than just the few things I’ve listed above.

Please take a look around here on the Cobweborium Emporium blog  – and perhaps even click to *Follow Me*,   simply by clicking the button over to the right, towards the top of the page.  By doing that you’ll get an email to tell you when I’ve added something to the blog which you might like to take a peep at.  (Yes, it’s that simple! You won’t receive spam or rubbish,  just an email to tell you a couple of lines about the new article I’ve posted on the blog here!)

I plan to put as much effort in as possible into this ‘ere blog  and hopefully have a little fun with everyone at the same time too  … and I hope to bring you something(s) that you perhaps you might not have seen before as well.

You can leave comments too,  so please say hello

I’d honestly love to get to know you.  If there’s anything you want to know about something I’ve posted, or about a product I’ve used but have forgotten to mention what it is in that particular blog post, then please ask!  Just leave the question in a comment on that post by clicking on the pale grey speech bubble which is along side the title of that particular post.  It’s VERY pale grey – but if you point your cursor towards the title of a post, then move it slowly to the right of that title, the pale grey speech bubble with turn a lovely warm red shade.  Click that and the comment box will open up for you to type a message to me.

But you don’t have to have a question –  even an ‘hello’ is wonderful and let’s me know you’re there!

I love comments

  Have a truly blessed rest of your day!  ~

P.S  . . .   You can find all the categories on The Cobweborium Emporium blog by looking over to the right in the column    >>> over there >>>        and finding:-   ‘Categories on this Blog’   (the listed  ‘names of categories’  underneath that title are all clickable and one click on any of those categories will take you directly to the category you’ve chosen).

  1. Nice blog, I love the way you’ve built it and the menu bar along the top makes it easy to navigate. Your posts make a really nice read. Sort of like an internet magazine. A cup of coffee and a read. Great job.

  3. Hi Cobwebs, thank you for following my blog. But oh no! Where do I begin on your fantastic home page! It’s so inviting and being an avid crafter myself, (whimsical more like) I don’t know which category to go to first! It’s like being in a sweet shop. I’m getting that excited feeling I get when I’m about to start a new project. I definately need to slot myself some good time in to browse your blogs very slowly. Finding this site is like finding a chocolate bar in your pocket! I’m going to fun on here, I can tell 🙂 x

    1. Hello Sharon. It’s lovely to see you here. Thank you SO much for your beautiful words. I’m wriggling with pure joy here, reading what you wrote. I would love to be able to reach through the screen and give you a hug. Sadly the internet hasn’t got that clever yet, so you’ll have to imagine a great big hug right now.

      I found so much sunshine and joy on your own blog that I had no option but to follow you. ‘You’ came out of your every word. You have a way of writing which speaks of your personality. A way of ‘talking’ through the typed word which gives the reader a tiny hint of the wonderfulness of your soul. Following you was an easy click!

      I hope my blog lives up to your expectations and that you find a bar of chocolate now and again in it’s pages! (Ahhh, chocolate. I know that temptation only too well – hence the hips! eeek! LOL)

      Sending you love through the ethernet, and wishing you a fabulous rest of your day, my friend. ~ Cobs. x

    1. Ohhh Up Mom, you are so lovely. Thank you for your kindness in mentioning my blog in your post. I’ve been and read it and I adore the ‘Happy Card’ idea thought up by your friends daughter. (Any readers reading right now, please go and check out Upcycle Moms blog post about it – it’s brilliant.)

      As far as crafty and talented … are you sure you’re reading my blog? lol. 😀

  5. Hi, couldn’t help but notice your comment on Barbara Gray’s blog post today( Recongnised the name 🙂 ). Glad you Have found it, I get lots of inspiration from her posts. If its of any help I follow her blog through WordPress. Do you have a “blogs I follow” tab on your dashboard, if so, if you click through on that, and click on the WordPress.com reader, then I usually just copy the blog url of the blog I want to follow and paste into the box that says enter blog url, click the follow button and job done.
    Then when you click through on the blogs I follow button on the top right it shows the latest posts of any blogs you are following and saves cluttering up you email in box.
    Thank you comments and for following me too.

    1. Hello Julie!
      I want to hug and kiss you all over. (not in a creepy way 😮 – more in a comedic way o_O lol). I didn’t know this little trick which makes following blogs, where I can’t find a ‘follow’ button, easy peasy! Ohhh Bless Your Heart, you fabulous woman, both for recognising my name on the question to Barbara, and for coming here and giving me the instructions (in idiot proof form – which is exactly what I needed lol) to follow a blog ‘outside of WordPress’ the easy way. I’ve followed your instructions and it worked like MAGIC!

      Thank you so much, I love you to pieces for this help. ❤
      and you’re not going to believe this but … it was your blog that I found the Barbara button on in the first place! LOL. 😀
      lots of love ~ Cobs. x

  6. Thanks so much for your lovely comment today – so glad you liked the tags! As far as the glue goes, I’m pretty sure it was the Golden Gloss Medium that I was using. As you can see in the process photos, there was quite a lot of glue on the tags, so there was plenty for the seed beads to embed themselves in. A few didn’t quite make it – there were a couple of loose ones once it was all dry, but most of them seemed perfectly happy to stay stuck!

    1. Hi Alison. Thank you for your reply! I was just about to pop over to your blog and see if you’d managed to spot my question among the many wonderful comments on your blog, and found you’d visited here to reply! Thank you so much for going to this trouble. I’m very grateful.

      The Tags [you made] are beautiful. I fell in love with them instantly. Well done on such an incredible make!

      ATC’s are such fun arent’ they. They fill those times when you want to do ‘something’ but it has to be something which isn’t going to take forever to get a result. I love them!
      Lovely to meet you. Hope to see you back here again.
