“Happy Birthday to me, happy Birthday to me…” (well that’s a Give-a-way isn’t it!)

Did I give-a-way that it’s my Birthday today?  [gasp!  I did?  Well shame on me.  Fancy advertising that you’re a year old than your original 7.5 years older.  Well..  I’m now 7.5 years old and well ….  it’s very strange, but I feel the exact same age as I did yesterday.  Bonus!

Talking of bonus’ . . . I come bearing a celebration of my special day, and, as we all know, a Birthday is a day associated with love and a small gift … or two.  So I’m here doing a Give-a-way to celebrate, open to all my followers.  However, not just one give-a-way,  but TWO!  My Birthday is on the 2nd so I thought that it being a 2, we should have a double Give-a-way.

BLOG POST EDITED: 5th August 2018

The ‘GIVEAWAY’ is now closed to new names being entered into the ‘hat’.  Anyone adding their name from this moment forward is, I’m afraid, too late to be included in the ‘draw’.

The Winner of the Home Under the Dome will be announced later today; Sunday 5th August 2018.

What’s on offer…

Fairy Footprints and a Cottage Pot
Fairy Footprints on a little card,  and a Fairy Cottage Pot.  Each one of these Fairy goodies is included in this Birthday Giveaway!

On offer is what you see in the photograph above.

  • One person can win the Fairy Footprints card, –
  • and  –  another person can win the Cottage Pot.

As you might be able to see in the 2nd of the two photos (just above here) – the Cottage Pot is, in total only just over 2″(two) inches tall.

It’s a micro-sized (real) terracotta pot, in which a tiny Fairy built her home.  Now left behind,  after she found her mate and began a family – and I was lucky enough to be in the right place, at the right time, with my ‘finding eyes’ working so well that I found it!

The tiny little terracotta pot itself measures just three-quarters of an inch!

Fairy Footprints on a card Giveaway

The Fairy Footprints card . . . well there’s quite a magical story behind that.

I rolled out two sorts of different clay and left it on my desk for just a matter of moments while I went and washed my hands.

When I came back . . . there were Fairy Footprints all over both of the clays!  From very small to big (‘big’ for a Fairy), but all of them were just breathtaking.  I didn’t want to destroy the clay (obviously) but couldn’t leave it all in a ‘slab’ – as that would have been too difficult to store carefully.  So … I carefully cut the footprints out and set them aside for them to dry.  (Hoping that nothing happened to them, nor that the footprints would disappear!)

I coloured the clay so that the footprints showed up clearly…  and decided that I just couldn’t keep them for myself, and had to share.  So I attached one to a little card – (just 11.6cm square, – or roughly 4.5″ inches) and here I am doing a Give-a-way in order to share and celebrate my Birthday.

Now then …. here’s the important bit so pin back your lug holes (ears). . .

The Give-a-way is open only to followers of the Cobweborium Emporium.

  • In order to enter your name for one of these Give-a-ways you MUST  make a comment on this post, and BEGIN YOUR COMMENT WITH THE WORD:  GIVEAWAY.  This is really important because seeing that word right at the beginning of a comment is my way of instantly finding all the people who want to be included.  If it’s not at the start of your comment, then on the day when I’m counting up how many people want to be in with a chance of winning, I just might miss anyone who has put the word in the middle or the end etc.  So please begin your comment with that one word: Giveaway. (thank you!)
  • On the day of the Random Number Generator being asked to pick the winners, the FIRST number generated, will be the winner who will get the chance to choose which Fairy related give-a-way they would like to receive.
  • The SECOND number generated will receive the other Fairy give-a-way.

And that’s all there is to it. 🙂

The Winner of the Home Under the Dome will be announced later today; Sunday 5th August 2018.

But I repeat … this Give-a-way is open only to followers of The Cobweborium Emporium.  This is simply because it makes it fair.

Followers aren’t simply ‘followers’.  These people (and you all know who you are) are wonderful friends who make blogging such a total joy to me.

All that’s left to say is …  don’t forget: GIVEAWAY as your first word  –

But you don’t have to want to be included for a Giveaway,  to comment.

If your comment doesn’t include the magic word, then I will know you don’t feel the need to have another ‘thing’ to care for!  Just come and have a chat in that case.  (You know I love to chat with you! lol.)

Wishing you a bright, blessed Thursday.  May your day be filled with peace and contentment.  Thank you so much for coming and sharing a coffee moment with me.

Much love ~

Author: The Art of Cobwebs - aka:- thecobweboriumemporium

Hello. I'm 'Cobwebs'. I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck! This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium. I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form. One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'. Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows. I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course). I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash. Thank you so much for visiting. Please visit my blog (link below) and have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy, even if it's only a handful of jokes! (yes, seriously - there really are jokes!) Wishing you a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. <3

  1. Giveaway, giveaway, giveaway….These are just as cute as everything else you create. Now…about this birthday…I was thinking you let it slip a year or so ago that it was later in the year. But I do get things confused and wrong a lot. Now I find out it is today, assuming you really mean August 2 .I am late again. HAPPY BIRTHDAY my dear Cob. May your day be filled with wonderful things and special people and cake and ice cream,it is still hot over there isn’t it, and a visit from Little Cob will top of the day. Hugs and kisses to you and yours. xoxo

    1. Hello my beautiful friend!
Aw, it’s so lovely to be chatting with you on my birthday! Seven and a half … again. lol.

      Regarding my birthday …
I have a tendency to not normally tell people when it is, because it kind of makes someone feel that they must remember it, or send a card, or do something to mark the occasion – which is crazy. Having people in my life is the blessing, and every day that they honour me with their friendship is the true gift, so I don’t need anything other than the people I love to be around. And here you are! 😀 It’s a great day!

Oh .. yes, you’re right, August 2nd. So today.

Thank you for your lovely wishes. I’m having a truly beautiful day. The sun is shining (although it’s a tad too hot). Mr. Cobs made me (MADE ME!!!) a Fairy House – nothing like my fairy houses … this is made from a dried out, cut and shaped branch, and some tree bark. It’s so so lovely. At some point I’ll have to take some photos and share it. I truly love it.

Cake and Ice Cream is a done deal …. Himself bought a cake and hid it (where he hid it I don’t know, but he tells me it was in the kitchen!) and I’ve just come back from a little shopping trip to buy some spray paints for crafting, and a slight detour managed to bag me a tub of Madagascan Vanilla Ice Cream, for a little later on.
[doing the oh so happy dance here! lol]

I’m tickled pink that you like the two Give-a-ways and are getting involved in it. 😀

Thank you so much for coming Bev. It’s so fabulous to see you on my Birthday!

  2. Giveaway.
I wish you a blessed Thursday too. I am not going to comment long because seeing Fairy things makes my tongue go a wag and I forget myself and then you are obliged to write back and waste valuable time replying to me- time that would be better spent in looking for or creating more fairy things.
Love you, Mrs. Cobs and may the best follower win.

    1. Hello Susie 😀
      Happy Thursday to you!

I’m gently laughing to myself here about you saying that seeing Fairy things makes your tongue go a wag, and that I then feel obliged to write back to you.

Aw Susie . . . I would write to you anyway – however long or short your comment was. You see … I always look on a ‘comment’ as you (or anyone) popping along for a coffee and a chat at the kitchen table. But .. if you haven’t got long, then you’re popping by just to say hello, and rush off again. Which is fine … but I’ll still reply. I’m just one of those ‘reply’ people. 😀

Thrilled you want to be involved in the Give-a-way, and I don’t mind who wins. But they have to be a follower to be included – and that’s done in order to be fair to followers – otherwise the world and his wife would be wanting to be included – and that really wouldn’t be fair on my lovely friends.

Thanks for coming for a visit Susie.

            1. Aw, the heat and humidity – I know that feeling all too well. It’s waaay too hot in my country right now. We’ve had weeks and weeks of it. Then just for a couple of days we had some rain – which was just wonderful. It cooled things down and we all got some decent sleep.

Then … the sun came back out and today … back to too hot, and apparently going to get worse.

I think I need to spend the Summer season with Father Christmas. I reckon I’d be happier working inside that huge lodge, heated nicely, and making toys for girls and boys.

Hmm… this sounds like a plan. I wonder where I book the flight?

              1. I hear it is warm up there, too. I need to be where there are no chores, there is a cool ocean to jump into when I get hot and my bills are all paid, so I don’t have to work.

  3. GIVEAWAY! oh of course, although my house is bulging with things screaming to be played with, I think the mantel could hold a wee something more.
Happy Birthday Cobs, so yes, we are Leo’s. Tis a great sign to be under.
We have cloud this morning and it’s windy. I still put the clothes out on the line but the clouds are looking like they may spill a drop or two. That would be welcomed, oh how we need some rain. Fires are burning again in BC and poor California again as well. I hope and pray they find relief soon as well.
I will be enjoying the cool by doing a bit of housework, truly needs it, been suffering for awhile now with the heat being too much of a “get in the way of doing things heat”, so today out comes the vacuum.
I do hope you are having a lovely day with maybe even some Unicorn kisses and glitter galore! 🙂
Happy Birthday happy birthday happy birthday. That is reason enough to eat cake!!!

    1. Hello Soozy! 😀
I agree …. Leo is a great sign to be under. Although, somehow I don’t fit the ‘Leo likes lounging about in the sun – just like a lion would do’, That bit really isn’t like me, but the rest is pretty much on the nail.

Your weather right now, cloudy and windy, sounds like there could be a little rain on the way, which would be brilliant for you and Stan. Cooler days and better nights all meaning better sleeping conditions for you both. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you Soozy.

I can relate to how things get left because of the heat. Oh can I ever! Both Mr. Cobs and I have a list of things that need doing which we haven’t done which normally would be done. Poor old Mr.C though has, I think, the harder job. He has fences to paint, repairs to be done, inside the house painted (in a couple of rooms), and various other things which he would have done by now, but the weather has been far too hot to work in. Poor chap is pretty much fed up with this hot weather. He’s not someone to sit around doing nothing at all, when he knows that there’s a job which requires his touch.

I’ve seen the fires in BC and Calif. on the news. Such destruction. Fire is something which has it’s own ‘mind’ and will do what it wants. It’s so difficult to get it under control. I pray wholeheartedly that they manage to put the fires out as soon as humanly possible.

Thank you for your lovely birthday wishes. The day has been truly lovely, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of it. ….. of course… I still have to dive into my cake yet …. that’s going to be the cherry on the top! yay!

Thrilled you’re putting yourself in the mix for Give-a-way, and wishing you big luck on the Random Number Generator. Fingers crossed!

Sending you much love and praying for a little rain to fall your way and cool things down for you and the little man, Stan.
      Stay safe and cool Soozy.

I’m tickled pink that you’ve got your name down for the Giveaway. And somehow it doesn’t surprise me one bit that you love the Fairy Feet. They somehow seem so ‘you’. 🙂

You think you’re older than me? Well I’m seven and a half now.
So if you’re older than me, you must be seven and three quarters.

Aw sorry to hear that you’ve had an absolute A#@E… (whatever that is – but it doesn’t ‘feel’ good anyway) over the last few weeks. Wanna talk about it? Or maybe you’ve dug a hole in the garden and buried it. 😉

Thank you for your kind wishes for my Birthday. I’ve had a truly wonderful time today and loved every minute, even the visit to the doctor was fun. I told him that since it was my birthday and I was at the doctors, I had to have a sticker like they gave to all the little children. Tickled the heck out of him. LOL. 😀

yep, buried the last few eeks in a hole in the garden, stomped it down good and proper, but it wasn’t quite finished with me…I tripped up the stairs in the restaurant possibly fracturing my toe which is now the most extraordinary shade of purple…

Hope you still have some leftover sparkles of birthday fun – lots of love to you! 🙂 xxx

        1. Wouldn’t that be great (if we lived on the same ley line)!!! Ohh, I would LOVE that.
It’s little things like that which give me such joy. I know, I know, I’m probably a saddo . . . but it’s those ‘odd’ coincidences in life which prove to me, over and over, what I’ve always believed: That although the schoolgirl part of me would like to go back in time and take Shakespear’s pens off him and bury them in the garden, … he actually said some amazing (or maybe that should be insightful) things – and in this case it would be: “There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy”.

He had his moments, didn’t he?! LOL

OUCH – the toe! Ohhh the pain, and the being unable to get your shoe on, and the rainbow of horrible colours! I hope you haven’t fractured it. But … uhmm … sounds like you coulda. eeek! 😦

    1. Hello beautiful Heather! 🙂
Ahh, good ol’ Dizzy. I had a feeling someone was peeping every now and again, through the window. It was Dizzy – checking to see if the promised Giveaway was appearing! Bless his heart. 😀

Thank you so much for the Birthday Wishes. The day truly was lovely from start to finish. I had so much fun, love and …. cake.
Sadly, Dizzy … there were no ginger nut biccies, so I can’t offer to share. In fact … (Dizzy will be so disappointed in me) there are no ginger nut biscuits in the house at all right now. I’ve discovered something called Biscoff Biscuits (made by Lotus). They’re very much like a ginger nut, but long instead of round, and … (here comes the magical bit) they don’t soften too quickly when you dip them in your coffee/tea. They stay crisp. Ohh… and they have the most delightful ‘SNAP’ when you bite them.

The taste is a little different too – there’s a very gentle sprinkle of cinnamon floating somewhere in the background – but give yourself chance to get used to that teeny tiny background sprinkle, you’ll settle into them really easily.

I’m thrilled to bits that you managed to get here for the Giveaway. Your name will be in the hat! 🙂

Thanks so much for coming for a visit, both of you. It always gives me a warm smile the moment I see you here.

Thank you so much for your lovely Birthday wishes. No worries about them being towards the end of the day – I carry my birthday feeling through until the cake has been eaten …. and there’s still cake left! he he!

I’m thrilled you found the Giveaway and that you’ve thrown your name into the hat. And I’m tickled pink that you like the Fairy Feet card and the Cottage Pot.

Like you I have a thing for polka dots in red and white, and even have tea/coffee/sugar containers in my kitchen (which I’ve had for quite a while) which are all red with white polka dots on them.

The dogs toy bucket in the hallway (where she knows all her toys are kept and where she roots through and gets them all out to find the particular one she’s after) … that’s the same polka dot as the kitchen pots. And finally … I do have a polka dot ‘potty’ which I use for housing house plants or bouquets of flowers.

So … I’m with you all the way on the Red and White Polka Dots. lol. (I’m also a sucker for gingham too. Save yourself – there is no hope for me! lol)

Yup … 7.5 years old now and know exactly to find the treasure. Although … I still haven’t found the ‘treasure’ of all the money Mr.Cobs has (had?). I’ve pulled up every bally floorboard in this house and haven’t found anything other than dust and a body (- but I put that back).

I promise faithfully never to grow any older on the inside. I shall forever allow the magic in, and also forever allow a trail of Fairy Dust to follow me around (like a trail out of this place) – so that I can find my way home, more than anything else! LOL.

Thank youfor coming Doris and for the amazing chat with the giggles and smiles embroidered into it.

      Sending much love.

        1. Ahh. yes I remember it well!

This time … I’ve sprinkled some red, blue, green and silver glitter all over it, so that if anyone ever digs up the cottage, they’ll think it was ‘Murda by Pesky Pixies’ … and the glitter would be their calling card.

So the case would be solved instantly and leave us off the hook and safe in the Caribbean ( or in my case, ‘Darsit’ – as the locals pronounce it).

BTW: (By The Way) … hot enough?

            Is it hot enough ???
What is the saying Horses sweat, Gentlemen perspire while Ladies merely glow ….. well I’m over here glowing like a belisha beacon
I alone must be keeping the sun lotion company in profit 🙂 not that I sunbathe you understand it’s just that I’m fair skinned ~ I think it’s safe to say I’m almost an Albino !!
If your off to Darsit I’ll make my way ‘darn sarrf’ we’ll meet up again in 2030 …. usual place ~ this time I’ll bring the glue you bring the sequins’

            1. Off to Darsit? I live in Darsit. (currently renamed tourist capital of the UK – and all the holiday makers loving Sandbanks Beach apparently. Well it is rather nice – the sand is so soft, and it’s all well cared for.

My favourite thing to do at Sandbanks isn’t visit the beach, but to go and gaze (enviously) at all the properties in Sandbanks (very high priced), deciding which one I’m going to buy – when I’ve won the lottery. I’ll of course invite you to come and have a cocktail by the private pool, and we can sit out in the cool evening air, having a giggle, while we eat our corned beef sandwiches. (we must never forget where we came from, after all!)lol

Regarding the heat … I’m most certainly NOT paying that heating bill when it arrives. I don’t know WHO left that heating on, but I’m very, very fed up with it, and, what’s worse is . . . THEY HID THE CONTROL!

Know what I think? I think it’s a Troll. A big footed, hairy headed, rootin’, tootin’ TROLL. Mother Natures going to be furious when the bill comes through the post!

big love to you Doris. ~ Barb
NB … people reading … our names aren’t Doris and Barb really. or are they? [snigger]

              1. The reason I said ‘off to Darsit’ was to confuse Mr Police Constable … he would think it couldn’t possibly you they were looking for as you were already there LOL
One sincerely hopes there will be Branston pickle to be had on those there sandwiches 🙂
When look for a posh pad remember what my Ma allus told me “dunt go buying a ‘ouse bigger than thar can clean”
Loving your Troll explanation, I was leaning towards a Kobold theory ~ they can turn quite mischievous or even malicious if ignored, so someone somewhere has been taking their domestic Kobold for granted!! so please one & all thank your sprite for his good deeds around the home and he just might stop being spiteful and give the remote back for the heating 🙂

                1. Ohhhh, I never thought about the Police Constable (great painter) .. what a total dope I am. (it the heat. It’s addled my brain!)

Your Ma was a wise woman. I should have bought a 2″square tiny card board box. Sealed shut. Varnished so that the dust slides off.

Now here’s where I show that I’m totally not down with the kids ..

I had to Google ‘Kobold’ because I didn’t have the foggiest notion what the heck it was. I am now edumacated, and can understand why I didn’t know about them. They is FEARSOME. [scarey things who are obviously held in the middle of a menopause/manopause, and have absolutely no sense of humour.

If ever I come across one, I shall hide!

It’s 10.36am on Sunday morning here. It’s already fan on low setting weather… but when that sun comes round onto the back of this little cottage, it will move things along to three fans in the living room, all on maximum ”blow your blinking brains out” setting.

I’m not enjoying this weather one bit, and I saw yesterday that they are now saying that this current situation could last until October. If this is true, I’m going get a movement going for people of the UK to go outside and perform the rain dance.

And with that, I think it’s now coffee time (again), so I’m off to put the kettle on.
                  Want one?
BIG Sunday love to you and the Cottage Gang. ~ Barb. xxx 😀 😀

  10. A belated happy birthday dear Cobs. I ran out of steam yesterday….
It sounds like you had a wonderful day. I love these giveaways. They are quite special but I will not put my name forward this time to allow others the joy of your creative gifts.

    1. Hello Daisies!
Running out of steam . . . . you and me both, kid! I can certainly relate.
I think perhaps the heat has a part to play in it, but I can’t lay the blame entirely on that.

Thank you for your birthday greetings. I had a truly lovely day. Loved every moment.

Daisies, popping your name in the ‘hat’ – even if you’d won before, it makes no difference. It’s all down to the Random Number Generator – and if it picks a person then that’s the person. I’m happy for anyone to win. Is it Luck when a number/name is chosen? Kismet? Fate? Fortune? Destiny? Written in the Stars? Providence? God’s will? Karma? … Who knows. I just know that the number chosen by Googles Random Number Generator is the person meant to have it, for whatever reason.

So if you want to enter any Giveaway, then you are both invited and very welcome to do so, Daisies.

Thank you so much for coming, and for your truly lovely comment, and your Birthday wishes.
Sending you much love and a bucket of squidges ~ Cobs. xxx

  11. Adorable! The teeny weeny size is incredible … truly, you must have fairy fingers! I shall not enter the contest this time, as I think, should I be so lucky as to win, the itty bitty fairy cottage might get lost in the mist on its way across The Pond. But I’m waiting all a-quiver as to what you’ll come up with next!

    1. Hello Chicken!
Behind on blogging? Oh I’m beating everyone at that, hands down. [sigh] I think I’m just going to have to pick up from the ‘now’, because trying to get through blog posts from a while back, is impossible.

Thrilled you like the Fairy Footprints card and the Fairy Cottage Pot, and tickled pink that you got here and got your name in the hat, for the giveaway ends today! So yes, in time and included. 😀

Mr Cobs thinking I’m a marvel?
Well, I’ve just interrupted his reading of the Sunday Newspapers to ask him .. and he got a wicked smile in his eyes, but his mouth said: “Course I do”.

Somehow … I’m not convinced. LOL

Thank you so much for coming Chicken and for the comment, but especially the love.
Love you heaps, and am sending squidges ~ Cobs. xxx ❤

  13. GIVEAWAY. Oh, Happy Belated Birthday Cobs! I’m so sorry I am late in my wishes for you. This has been a difficult past couple of days. I stopped by just to put a smile on my face, a much needed “pick me up” from you. And to find that you are going to part with such lovely little tokens on your birthday when you should be the recipient of the birthday presents and well wishes, well, that kept the smile in place a little longer. I hope you had a lovely day! 🙂

    1. Hello Nancee.
You’re just in time to be included. I came to put a note saying that the Giveaway was now closed, and you got in before I did that, so well done!

Thank you so much for coming, and for your lovely birthday wishes. Bless you.

        1. I’m so sorry to hear this Nancee.
He’d been very poorly for quite a while now, and you’d all learn’t that there very sadly wasn’t to be any further help they could give him which would have made the difference that you’d all prayed for.

His family and close friends, as well as his employees at your place of work, must be very saddened that this day has come.

But remember Nancee, that this isn’t an ending, but the beginning of a new journey for him, and one in which he will be surrounded in the purest of love and joy.

He hasn’t really ‘gone’ anywhere. He’s in the next room. The door is open. He can hear you. Talk to him as you’ve always done. Grieve for your loss of seeing him each day, but don’t grieve for too long, for he really wouldn’t have wanted that.

You haven’t ‘lost’ him. He’s simply out of sight for now. You’ll see him again, eventually. Just not yet. Now, is his time. But he’s still around. He can hear you and he can see you, and he knows how you felt and feel now about him.

You are truly blessed to have been given the chance of being in his company while he was here on Earth, and now it is time to send his spirit on it’s journey, with your love.

Praying for him, and his family, and for you and all his friends. Although I didn’t know him, you spoke of him often, and I came to realise that this must be a truly fabulous chap.

Sending you my love, now and always ~ Cobs. xxx
