Author: The Art of Cobwebs - aka:- thecobweboriumemporium

Hello. I'm 'Cobwebs'. I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck! This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium. I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form. One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'. Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows. I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course). I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash. Thank you so much for visiting. Please visit my blog (link below) and have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy, even if it's only a handful of jokes! (yes, seriously - there really are jokes!) Wishing you a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. <3

  3. Congrats Daisies! I can’t believe I was even on the list?!?!! Thank you Cobs for the opportunity. Enjoy your Sunday. 🙂 Sunny and hot here, not looking forward to later this morning. It’s lovely out right now but supposed to get hot and hotter.

    1. Hello Soozy.
Yes, hot here too, and apparently going to get even hotter as the week goes by.
We’ll all be frazzled to a crisp.

We did have a downpour during the nighttime a few days ago, which I was eternally grateful for, but I think I’ve lost a small conifer and a couple of other shrubs. They’re replaceable, but sad to lose them.

Take very good care of you and Stan. Stay safe, cool and out of the hot hot sun.

      1. Yes Cobs I will be there in the crispy well done part too! We do get similar weather, but we didn’t get that lovely rain 😦 Yes I am losing a lovely wee Japanese Green Maple, she is half done, but I am giving him good fertilizer and water every evening, so cross your fingers that he survives this week. I transplanted a big Maple from the garden bed to the front yard, it’s looking rather scraggly too, this is going to be a shade tree for my mobile when it gets bigger. It is only about 25′ tall at the moment and not very many leaves.
Stan is struggling today, didn’t have much of an appetite for the home cooked food, but was fine with store bought treats, so I’m guessing he is just being fussy. He has lost a bit more weight too, it concerns me, I just don’t want him to suffer at all, and because he has no eyes, I can’t tell whats going on inside there. We are keeping him hydrated, loved and wet if he needs to be. I am loving on him every day I have him. Last night was rather trying as he wasn’t settling like normal, pacing around the bedroom, so he was waking me every hour! Didn’t get a restful night at all.
Last night was the first night out of many that I didn’t have any aches when laying down, so I was smiling when I went to bed until Stan started with his pacing and me taking him outside thinking he would have to pee, but out of 6 times going out he only peed 2 times! Darn it anyway. Hoping for a better night tonight.
        Thanks Cobs for caring.

        1. Ohhhh Soozy, I’m so saddened to read about Stan not coping well. He’s really not doing well at all in this heat. Poor baby.

I wonder if perhaps a little trip to the vet, just for the vet to give him a once over. Check his heart and lungs, and perhaps you can squeeze some ideas out of him on how to keep Stan happier during this current heat wave. You never know, he may just come up with an idea or two that you hadn’t thought about.

I had a thought about him earlier. ….
When Little Cobs was just a toddler, we bought him a little blow up paddling pool – but it was very VERY low sided. Just had one thin blow up ring around the outside – which was there more to keep the water in.

Because it was so low … Little Cobs was fine about getting into it (of course, once Grammy had climbed in to show him that no one would disappear in the water. lol.

I wondered if Stan would find something like comforting and cooling. Because he’s a bit of a puffing and snorting chap, you might have to put him in and get him out again … but a little dip in very shallow water might help.

But the vet … I reckon your vet would be able to help, and also able to tell you how Stan is doing on the inside as well as the outside.

Sending love to you, and a squidge to Stan. ~ Cobs. xxx

          1. Yup we got the pool, we got the cold wet towel (if needed) and you can always use alcohol on the feet.
I had him to the vet yesterday for a weigh-in and he is losing. That concerns me. He eats well but to increase his food means possible spike in his blood sugars. Can’t win for losing. He insulin is going to have to be increased again, his sugars are in the 30’s and they should be around 11 to be good. We are trying and it does take a long time to get to the plateau. Flat faced dogs have never done well in the heat. He is asleep on the cold floor at the moment.
Thank you for your kind response and your ideas. Great ones too, but we beat you to it. 🙂 lol

            1. I’m so gad you beat me to it, Soozy. 🙂
I know only too well the problems of flat faced dogs because I used to own two British Bulldogs. Beautiful dogs. Loved them both to pieces.
Thinking of you, and praying that Stan is helped through the hot weather.

    1. Hello lovely Daisies!
Aw I’m tickled pink that you’re happy to be the winner.

I was stunned when the Random Number Generator picked No.1 – not because it was you, but because I always had this belief that being the first of last on the list was probably the very numbers which wouldn’t be chosen. You being No.1 and the number chosen kicks my thoughts totally out of the window!

But … it makes me ULTRA happy to know that it really is a fair random number picker, and every single number has exactly the same chance with it. YAHOO!

I’ve been visiting all day, but I’ll be going and checking through my emails in a few minutes, so if I have it, I’ll email straight away. If I don’t, then I’ll put another reply here to you, so that we can get things going.

Many Congratulations Daisies. 😀 Tickled pink for you.

    1. Aww, I noticed that your name was missing, but I guessed that perhaps you just didn’t want this particular Home under the Dome so didn’t enter.

Never mind Heather. Perhaps Dizzy was suffering heat stroke. (Or too many ginger biscuits) lol.

There will be another Giveaway soon, so perhaps next time!
      Thanks for coming, both.

      1. We love all your domes! 🙂 I think the ginger biscuits might be correct. I’ve been sleeping a lot more in the heat, and I think Dizzy’s been taking the opportunity to eat even more biscuits! 🙂
We shall keep a careful look out for your next giveaway. 🙂 Hope you have a lovely week. Sending donkey hugs. 🙂 xxx

    1. Aww Rabbit!! You forgot to put the ‘GIVEAWAY’ magic word!
I just thought you didn’t want anything more to dust than you already have! LOL.

Say a prayer for you and your cottage??? Oh My Goodness! Something is wrong? I shall have to visit sooner than I thought …. I’ll come right away to your blog to catch up.
      Love ~ Cobs. xxx
      p.s. …. Prayers of course. Yes. Absolutely. C. x

      1. oh dear I made a boo boo on forgetting the magic word! nothing is wrong in fact things are moving along. What a busy time and a lot of things come with selling -where do I go-employment etc- a cottage that I have always loved just went on the market! It is a bit bigger than I really need though! so pray for me to know what to do please!! would love your thoughts. love your rabbit!

        1. Dearest Rabbit.
Firsly … the cottage that has just come onto the market.
Is it smaller than the Rabbit Patch you currently live in?

Have you been inside it? It could be a wreck inside, so don’t fall too deeply in love or you could feel flattened out and despondent if it’s not up to scratch when you get in there.

Does it have enough rooms for overnight/weekend stayers – or even for a week(s)?

Is the dining room big enough for your brood to all crowd around for Christmas, Thanksgiving etc etc?

You could book a viewing and make sure you take your note pad with you on which you have all the necessary things you want from a cottage.

It’s ok to be flexible on some things – no property will ever be perfection – so being flexible on some things is a given. But … you will have things that aren’t a movable feast (so to speak) and which you require – such as enough bedrooms. Or an open fire (perhaps). Place to park your car. On a transport route. Or … well anything that YOU know HAS to be in your new home.

Tell you heart to go on beating, but that it has to leave the initial viewing and thinking up to your brain.

Once your brain has done the checks, then you can allow your heart to fall just a little bit in love. But wait for the fully in love until the property guy has done all the checks. It the cottage passes the test …. FALL IN LOVE WHOLE HEAD, HEART AND SOUL!

Never mind about missing this Giveaway …. there will be another soon. And others.

I went to your blog at midnight last night to find out what I’d missed. I’ve left you some messages. But don’t fuss over them. Time is precious and painting jobs and cleaning that cottage of yours comes first.

Sending much love and buckets of squidges ~ Cobs. x ❤
p.s. Praying for you Rabbit. Always. xxx

          1. the cottage has all of what you knew I needed. It is not nearly as big as the rabbit patch, but it is bigger than I was considering. However it really is a good size, for it would allow guests and who knows but maybe my older family members may need to come-That does mean so much to me. I have seen a video and read a description which lists facts. I have loved this place for almost three years-the location is perfect. I plan to do a actual visit inside too. Oh well, God shut the last door and He may shut this one. This is not the only one I am looking at, but oh it is a favorite. Time will tell . . it always does. Thank you for listening to my rambling, You really know me well . . that means so much. love your rabbit

            1. If it’s ‘to be’ it will be.

Do all the things you need to do to help your hopes, wishes and dreams to move in the right direction. And … if it’s right, and if it’s your future, then God will help to make it happen.

Love you Rabbit. Won’t stop praying until this whole procedure is done and dusted.

    1. It wasn’t Soozyb who won Chicken… it was Watching the Daisies!
Now step away from that Martini Mrs.Chicken LOL

Aw it was an easy mistake to make – probably because Soozyb’s name on the list is all in black when the rest of the names are in red. That’s because everyone else has a blog and I made all the names into clickable links. Sadly Soozy doesn’t have a blog, so I couldn’t make her name into a link.

Thank you for your lovely words Chicken. Bless your heart. 🙂
