Home under the Dome 3 ~ MEGA DOMES!

What’s that saying  ~  “Go BIGGER or go home!”?   We’ll we’re doing both here!

Although …  not going so big that you could see a ‘Home Under the Dome’ from Space.  I might be calling them ‘Mega Domes’ – but they’re still tiny. Small enough to put in your pocket.

Take a look at the measurements…  (the purple rule is in centimetres, but I’ve done the conversion into inches to help) . . .

Mega Domes and Regular Dome measurements. 2

The Home Under the Dome in the centre (above) is the regular sized dome that you’ve seen me make before.  (you’ll  find information about this little Dome later).

Mega Domes pair 2

The Mega Dome on the right hand side of the above photo contains something very special,  because it holds a ‘Fairy Kiss’, and, of course, a Fairy Home[under the Dome] along with some Fairy Mushrooms and a few other tiny fairy thingsThe Dome on the left hand side of the above photograph contains a Fairy Wish Tree as well as not one, but TWO Fairy Homes, and a bundle of Fairy Mushrooms.  Let’s take a look at that one first, shall we?

Fairy Wish Tree Mega Dome 4

The tree really does have a tree trunk – but try as I might I couldn’t get it to properly show up in photographs.  The trunk is made from a piece of branch which fell from the humongous protected Pine Trees which are in my garden to the rear of Cobweb Cottage.

Fairy Wish Tree Mega Dome 5

There are two Fairy Homes, and an assortment of Fairy Mushrooms – all freshly collected from Freckled Mushroom Wood ~ which can be found near to where I live – but is only known and shown to those who truly believe and enter with a pure heart.  If you look very closely towards the top of the tree, you will see the tiniest of Fairy Bluebirds, sitting happily in the tree. Can you also spot the really tiny multi coloured, sparkly butterflies?

Fairy Wish Tree Mega Dome 4

What you can’t see in the photos above, is that the Fairy Wishing Tree was collected when there was a low breeze, and so it is held in suspension, or ‘frozen in time’, and bends slightly,  and the foliage still looks exactly as it did when the low breeze blew it – all blown and sort of ‘leaning’ in the same direction.  It looks like there is a gentle wind blowing inside the Dome. Magical!

The other Mega Dome – well that’s a special dome and possibly my favourite.  It contains a Fairy Kiss, which holds a Fairy Home and some Magical Freckled Mushroom.

It has flowers, and some teeny tiny buttons which the Fairies had collected and were using as stepping-stones up to their house.  Knowing that the Fairies wouldn’t mind, I gathered up just two of the minuscule buttons and added them to the base of the silver Thimble Kiss.

Fairy Kiss Mega Dome 7

The Fairy Kiss is the Thimble you see holding the Fairy home and mushrooms.

Do you remember in the story of Peter Pan, the boy who never grows up, (written by Scottish novelist J.M.Barrie), who interacts with Fairies, Mermaids and Pirates (‘think’ Captain Hook!). Wendy Darling and Peter Pan became friends and wants to give Peter a kiss – which Peter thinks is the thimble which Wendy is holding, so holds out his hand to receive it.

That thimble from the story made a huge impression on me as a child and I grew up knowing that in reality, a thimble to humans, was a ‘kiss’ to a Fairy.

When my daughters were old enough to understand and treasure things – one Christmas I gave each of them a special gift from me of a silver bracelet (one each), which I’d had one tiny, real silver thimble hung on each of the bracelets, and when they’d opened their bracelets I shook my arm and showed them that I too had a silver bracelet with a silver thimble on it, and told them that wherever they might be in the world, and if I was ever a long way away from them, they only had to look at their bracelets and would see that they would always have a kiss from me.  They loved their bracelets, and the knowledge that they would always have a kiss.

Now lets deal with that tiny little Home Under the Dome which is in the middle of the two Mega Domes, shall we ?  . . .

Mega Domes plus a giveaway 1

This regular sized, tiny Home Under the Dome (in the centre of the above photo) is quite a special dome, and it’s up for grabs!

The ‘GIVEAWAY’ is now closed to new names being entered into the ‘hat’.  Anyone adding their name from this moment forward is, I’m afraid, too late to be included in the ‘draw’.

The Winner of the Home Under the Dome will be announced later today; Sunday 22nd July 2018.

Home Under the Dome - Giveaway 8

This tiny little dome is packed to over-flowing with charm and has some very special features.  There are two tiny homes under this dome, both of which speak of the quirkiness and fun of the Fairies who once inhabited the homes – for both are slightly different in that they are wiggly wobbly.  Bending and curving just slightly.   They’re …. different in a special way.

Home Under the Dome - Giveaway 9

It was difficult to show you what I mean in photographs, but you can just about see in the photo above that the tallest of the two houses begins at ground level and then curves backwards and, had it been taller, you would have seen that it’s on it’s way back to curve the other way.  BUT .. if you then look at the smaller of the Fairy homes – that home also curves and in fact matches the curve of the taller house!  How do the Fairies know how to do that?!!!  [gasp!]

There are blue freckled Fairy mushrooms, and also one teeny tiny red freckled mushroom, all growing in the grass.  But … there is something very special that I haven’t included in any Dome before . . .

Home Under the Dome - Giveaway 10

. . . there – in a ‘held in a moment of time’, is a tiny blue butterfly, which landed on a freckled mushroom, and is captured forever under the Dome.  This special Dome is now the subject of a Giveaway for followers of my blog.

Well, crafty wise,  that’s me done and dusted.

However . . . I’ve learned some things this week that I’d like to share  . . .

  1. Don’t trust that the new receptionist at your doctors has actually booked you in to see the doctor you told her you wanted to see, but instead might (accidentally) book you in to see some doctor in the practise you’ve never seen before in your life.  [sigh]
  2. That although your husband/partner normally has the worst memory in the Universe, sometimes they will surprise the heck out of you and know exactly where to find a particular thing, that you know you have, but WHERE THE DICKENS IS IT?!!!
  3. I’ve learned that I haven’t lost my power to bargain with stores and get a better deal than they first offer you.  SOOOO happy, and Mr.C is in awe!  (But I don’t go in for hero-worship so … ahh, no … a little hero-worship is great for the soul – so long as it’s only for a moment).
  4. I’ve finally admitted that my big boy cat, [read ‘small Panther’], Alf Capone, is, quite frankly,  the nosiest cat in the world.  He likes to sit or ‘lounge’  anywhere at the front of our cottage where he can observe every single thing which goes on in the area where we live.  Any neighbour who comes or goes, doesn’t do so without being counted out and counted in again.  Any car which drives past is registered – both in colour, make and model, for future reference by him.  He’s the laziest, nosiest, most beautiful cat with the biggest personality, and he makes everyone laugh.  He’s also the biggest eater.  We’ll go bankrupt with this cat.  He can really put it away!  (But then, he is a huuuge cat – so I guess it’s understandable).
  5. Finally …  I’ve learnt that ‘accidentally’ being booked in to see the wrong doctor actually might be beneficial – so don’t discount seeing someone different when the need arises, for a fresh set of eyes looking at things differently and can sometimes come up with what possibly might be the answer.

I’m sure I’ve learned more than these things, but my one brain cell can only hold so much information, and when there’s too much going in it forces the brain cell to ‘evacuate’  some older things in order to make way for the new stuff.  (But I wish that it would hang onto passwords or at the very least be organised enough to stick post it notes to the inside of my skull!)

All that’s left for me to do now is to wish you a truly wonderful week.  May reality be better than your dreams!

Have a blessed day all.  Sending you heaps of squidges and lots of love ~

Author: The Art of Cobwebs - aka:- thecobweboriumemporium

Hello. I'm 'Cobwebs'. I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck! This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium. I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form. One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'. Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows. I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course). I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash. Thank you so much for visiting. Please visit my blog (link below) and have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy, even if it's only a handful of jokes! (yes, seriously - there really are jokes!) Wishing you a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. <3

    1. Hello Daisies! 🙂
I’m very hopeful that this fresh pair of eyes has come up with the answer which I’ve been searching for, for rather a long time. (It might be an answer. Not necessarily an answer I’ll like, but it’s an answer – and if it’s the right answer, at least I can move forward.)
      Sending much love to you.
Have a blessed day Daisies. ~ Cobs. xxx

  1. Giveaway! Of course. Who would be dumb enough to not want one of your treasures. I am amazed at the tiny work you do. My short rather plump fingers just can’t pull this sort of stuff off. But of course I know the secrete…You have tiny creatures who help.
Cob…You are just too much and I do love you. xoxo

    1. Hello my fabulous friend! 🙂
aww, I’m so glad to see you. You’re like a ray of sunshine, sent to me directly from the Angels.

I’m thrilled you would like your name to be thrown in the hat for the Giveaway.

You really could do this sort of thing Bev. But I’ve a feeling that you’d be great at flowers! Ohh, can you imagine – a flower, like a sample type of thing, of (say) a rose, or a daffodil – sat inside a dome, surrounded by ‘grass’ and perhaps the odd ladybird? Ohhh those sorts of domes would look totally brilliant Bev.

OK, it would take perhaps a little bit of practise and getting the ‘feel’ of the clay, but I really don’t think it would take you long before you got it, because, despite what you say, you’re a very intelligent gal. You really could do these. (I wish we lived within driving distance, because I’d bring me and some play stuff and we’d have a session of you making a rose or a daf. or something or other. You’d love it.

It’s funny that you should say I have tiny creatures who help …. because … well…. there will be something coming to the blog soon, and I think you’re going to like it. (And you could make these too!)

Me, too much? Ohh, no. I’m not nearly enough. But I try. Every day I try.
I love you too Beverly. Muchly!

    1. Hello Tam! 🙂 Great to see you!
Aww, I’m thrilled that you like the Fairy Tree. Like you … I think that nestled beneath that tree is a beautiful place for a fairy to live. I’d love to live there.

Glad that the story of the Thimble made you smile. My bracelet – even if I’m not wearing it, just seeing it in my jewellery box makes me smile and I can’t help but pick it up and hold it, while remembering the memory of both of the girls wonderment shown on their faces as I told them about how a thimble came to represent a kiss. Beautiful memories.

Thanks for coming Tam. I shall include your name in the ‘hat’. Have a great day at work!

  3. GIVEAWAY

These are so incredibly gorgeous, I love them! I was smitten with the last ones you posted up, and these are just as beautiful. Such intricate detail and care put into crafting them, you really are incredibly talented. Love the little button and butterfly detailing too, you really have thought of everything.

PS. Glad you can haggle for bargains in stores, I’m useless at that! And definitely agree with new receptionists…don’t trust ‘em as far as you can throw ‘em (learnt this myself this morning having my appointment cancelled tomorrow because the newbie booked me with someone who can’t do the procedure I’m booked for rather than the nurse I’d requested!). Love the idea of the giveaway, it’s an incredibly generous thing to do. Sending hugs and wishing you all the best for a good week ahead  ♥

  5. Giveaway ! Of course I want to participate though I do wonder about how the dome would reach me but here, I am getting ahead with my story aren’t I ?
I love the Enchanted Wood and the Faraway Tree and MoonFace and Silky the Fairy and the SaucePan Man and all of the others. I was reminded of the Faraway tree when I looked at the dome.
But is the tree made from a pine frond or is it plastic ?
Love the little bluebird and the little orange butterflies.
And the little people who help and the stepping stones and the little silver thimble. That looks so like the silver thimble that Natalie lost in the garden and a fairy creature used as a flower pot.
Loved the story of the little silver thimble bracelets and how much your daughters loved them.
You have an enchanted wood at the bottom of your garden ? And the trees go “Wisha, wisha” when they want to tell you something ?
Oh Cobs, I want to see you and your space so much.

    1. Hello Susie. 😀
To answer your ‘wondering’…. Whoever wins the dome, and wherever they live . . . I make special boxes for the domes, and they’re packaged for safety while they’re in transit.

The tree has a trunk of real wood which was gifted from one of the very tall, protected Pine trees (protected by law) which live in my garden.

The tree is all natural, but the Fairies in Freckled Mushroom wood don’t use Pine Fronds. Their trees bloom with something magical, which can be found growing in the lands of the Artic. It has magical properties which carries calm and serene, and it invites energy. And it can even be used to make alcohol!

I learn’t that good witches (the ones which use nature) use it for luck, money and protection.

No … the Enchanted wood isn’t at the bottom of my garden… but it’s just a short way away from our cottage. Within easy walking distance. In fact, it’s one of our dogs most favourite walks.

Thank you so much for coming Susie, and for entering into the spirit of the Giveaway.

Aw I’m so happy that you like the domes.
No one *has* to enter, that’s why I always give people the opportunity to be included if they want to be – because I know that not everyone likes little things around the house. Dusting and polishing is a bit of work all by itself, so to have too many things on top of all those surfaces can double the time it takes to dust and polish! Eeek. lol

Thank you for coming Anne, and for the lovely comment.
Wishing you a blessed rest of your day.

I’m crossing my fingers and hoping that we can get to the bottom of this *thing* because then, once it has been diagnosed, I will know what my ‘enemy’ is that I’m fighting. One can’t fight the enemy unless you know who or what it is. I’m staying hopeful.

Thanks so much for coming GillyF., and for the fabulous comment.

  8. Well Cobs you are just the dome maker supreme now. One my say the fairies taught you well. 🙂 Any one of those domes would have a place of honor on my mantel. I have a few wee trinkets settling in there and I do enjoy the stories that go with them. I would love to participate if it’s not too late and my name can be added to the hat 🙂
Sometimes a new pair of eyes is good for the health. I have a friend that had been misdiagnosed and she was seen by another and they got the root of the problem. It wasn’t what the first doctor had thought. With more testing with fresh eyes, I’m sure they will come up with a prognosis. Thinking of you Cobs, it’s never nice when something is wrong and you know there is something wrong.
We are sure having a hot week. I am melting in the evening and it’s hard to sit still. So I go to bed early but that doesn’t help much, then I am up with the birds. Not good. At least my room is cool with the fans I have in the window and come morning, it’s rather chilly. A welcomed relief.
Stan is hanging in and I have cooled him down twice just with water on the tummy. He will lay in front of a big fan that I have, but really doesn’t settle like when he had his sight and his sound 😦 It’s sad.
The Chihuahua’s seem to be doing just fine, they find their happy place 😉 The oldest cat has taken to the top stair of the shed in front of the door. It is very very shady for him and it looks like he almost is smiling.
Gotta run sounds like Stan is on his way out the door.
Thank you for sharing another wonderful group of small wonders.
    hugs from the island.

      Lovely to see you.
Good to hear that Stan is being the brave little soldier he is and manfully dealing with the heat there where you are.

The Chihuaua’s … they’re more built for warmer temperatures, but they’re still wearing a fur coat, so even they will be getting fed up with the high temps.

It’s good to hear that your mornings are cooler – that must be a welcome relief. It’s cooler here this morning, and it’s very enjoyable, I must say! I know that around mid-day it will warm up again, but for now, this lovely cool breeze which is blowing through the cottage is fantabulous!

Thanks for coming Soozy and for the lovely message.

  9. GIVEAWAY: How could I not want to own that gorgeous tiny dome. You may or may not have noticed me missing around the traps recently. Nothing serious, just taking a little rest. Your posts always cheer me and I am filled with wonder at your inventiveness with the pretty domes, toadstools and fairies.
Alf Capone sounds like a wonderful cat, I hope he has many more years of adventures, sleuthing out the neighbourhood and of course loads more gourmet meals to enjoy. Fluffystuff sends her regards.
I so agree about the doctor thingy. Obviously your receptionist has your best interests at heart, clearly she’s a fairy person. I hope your new Doc searches out what ails you and soon.
As for “thimble kisses” – I am the owner of a silver thimble and I shall never be able to look at it again in the same way, how very special were the bracelets for your girls. Wonderful idea Cobs.

    1. Hello Barbara 🙂
I had noticed that you were MIA, and was thinking about you a couple of days ago. Good to see you.

Taking a rest is sometimes something that we all need to do. We need to give time to our inner well being and that can take time. And, of course, real life can get in the way, like the cheeky monkey it is!

Alf Capone is quite the character. Although H.U.G.E., he’s a lover not a fighter. All the neighbours who’ve met him, fall instantly in love with him, and Daughter No.2 & Son-in-law would adopt him in a heartbeat. Son-in-law in particular loves him. Being a tall, big bear of a man, Alf Capone looks like a regular sized cat when he clambers all over S-i-l. lol.

Alf is currently out, watching the world go by, but I will pass on Fluffystuffs regards. He’ll like that very much. 😀

The doctor … I’m crossing my fingers Barbara. You cannot fight an invisible enemy – so I’m very hopeful that after such a long time, my fight to over-come can begin in true!

I’m tickled to pieces that you like the ‘Under the Domes, and wish to be entered into the whole fun Giveaway. Loved hearing that you have a silver thimble. There are some really beautiful Victorian thimbles that I’ve seen, and every now and again I drop heavy hints to Mr. Cobs … so far he hasn’t taken the hint. But hope lives on. 😉

Thank you so much for coming Barbara, and for your lovely comment.

  10. Giveaway!! Love these domes Cobs…but then you knew I would.
I also loved the story of the silver bracelets for your daughters. What a neat idea. All I really did was give my sons a sign (when they started driving a car) that said “never drive faster that your guardian angel can fly.” It seemed like a wise choice at the time and I still kind of like that advice.
I surely hope those doctors figure things out for you sooner than later. Getting to the bottom of things is always a relief so you know where you are at and what can be done.
Take care of yourself Cobs! Love knowing what you are up to.

    1. Hello Chicken 🙂
aw, it’s fabulous to see you.
The silver bracelets with the silver thimbles hung from them….
I remember when I went in search of some tiny, real silver thimbles and how, when I found a jewellers which actually had some. He didn’t understand why on earth I wanted thimbles hung on the two bracelets I bought from him. He knew the bracelets were for my daughters. But asked “Why Thimbles? Are they both into sewing?” …. and I simply said a bright and cheerful “No, not at all sadly”… and he then asked … “So why thimbles?”. I replied … “Ahhh, now that’s a secret, and I’m afraid that I just can’t tell you”. and gave him my best smile and twinkle.
Funniest thing to watch his face. lol.

Actually … remembering this has given me an idea … maybe …. hmm… perhaps a ‘kiss’ of some sort could make an appearance on the blog at some point. Oooo… I have to give this some thought on how to go about it. (all excited now!)

I LOVE the sign you gave your boys. A reminder that Mum gives good advice.

Thank you for your wishes regarding the doctors figuring things out. You’re right of course, knowing is half the battle.

Thank you so much for coming Chicken. I’m so sorry that I’ve been MIA on your blog … things seem to be getting the better of me at the moment and before I know it I’m at the end of the day and still haven’t visited all my fabulous blog people that I follow. Terrible. Just terrible. tsk tsk.

Since I’ve been back in Blogland, I’ve been, over the past 2/3 weeks visiting various different peoples blogs that I follow and ‘liking’ and commenting… however, I began to notice that my comments weren’t shown on these blog sites. Eventually someone told me that they’d found my comments on their site had all gone to their spam folder. Eventually other people found the same had happened to them, and told me.

I have contacted WordPress about it, and they directed me to Akismet, and they’re now helping to solve this problem.
However … I’ve made posts on your blog and didn’t know how to contact you to say check your spam folder. But this morning I had a light bulb moment …. contact you by leaving a comment on my blog, to a comment you’d made on one of my posts. Hence this message!

Please check your spam folder… because I think my comments are there. I hate the thought that you might think I don’t care enough to visit or comment, and had to find a way of letting you know, and I hope you don’t mind me using this way. I knew it would be useless putting a comment on your blog telling you about this problem, because it would just go to spam and you’d never see it!

If you check your spam folder…. and find the comments. Tell your spam folder I’m not a spammer, and put my comments into your inbox… then you’ll have to find the comments in the inbox and click to put them on your blog posts. Obviously, if you want to reply to any comment then that’s fine. But please don’t feel you have to.

Could you tell me though that you’ve seen this message, and also let me know if you’ve found the comments in your spam folder… so that I can tell Akismet if they need to know.

Sending lots of love and hugs your way ~ Cobs. xxx

  11. GIVEAWAY. I’ve even put it in big capital letters because my heart gave a flutter when I saw that you were offering one to a follower (ooh, sounds like some sort of fairy cult!) Anyway, these are lovely and you put magic and sparkle into each one. Such a sweet story about the thimble too. Hope the fresh pair of eyes at the Dr proves valuable going forward. Hxx

    1. Hello Hannah! 🙂
Actually laughing out loud here …
A follower of a Fairy Cult! Ooooo now what a magical idea that would be! [wondering how she would go about starting a cult …. hmm, sounds like something her one brain cell might not be up to] … hmm difficult one that. I shall give my puzzler time to puzzle. 😉

Aw tickled pink that you’re joining in the fun of a Giveaway, Hannah, and so happy that you like the Homes Under the Domes.

Like you, I’m hoping that the fresh pair of eyes might just have found the magic key which would open up the chances of putting up a ‘fight’ and taming this thing.

Thanks for coming Hannah, and for the comment which has tickled the heck out of me this morning.

What a darling mother! And you know, I too have found there really are few “mistakes” in our lives-just like your Dr. story. God bless you my friend and . . . .you made the rabbit patch! visit when you can! love your rabbit!

    1. Hello dearest Rabbit.
Ohhh, I’m so happy to hear that you had an enjoyable read here.

I think you’re right. I too believe that there aren’t really any mistakes, but there are openings or pathways that you perhaps hadn’t considered or tried, and what we might look on as a ‘mistake’ is actually a light shining on something else, which gives you another option or choice. Of course … we have free will, and so can choose to ignore it. But I am so glad that on this occasion, I decided that it really wouldn’t hurt to let this new chap take a bit of a look and get his brain thinking on my behalf.

Sorry I’m a bit behind with the Rabbit Patch … but I will be there. I promise. Pinky Finger promise!

Thank you so much for coming dear Rabbit, and for leaving such a lovely comment.

        1. I’ve already been, and seen. And left you a message. You won’t believe what happened last week, here in Dorset, England. Wait till you read it – in a comment on your blog. But don’t rush. There is plenty of time for that when you’re not being busy doing other things, my beautiful Rabbit friend.

  13. GIVEAWAY oh my goodness how lovely that you are kind enough to give one your pieces of art away. They are all stunning and simply adorable. My ‘baby’ made herself a fairy door at pre school and now I feel inspired to do some fairy crafts too! Do you sell these anywhere? If you do please share a link so I can have a look. X x

    1. Hello Mrs.Craft 🙂
Aw, I’m thrilled to see you. I’ve been thinking about you recently . . . but more about that in a minute.

Tickled from my head to my toes that you’v entered the Giveaway, and that you ask about whether I sell the the Homes Under the Domes anywhere. I’m trying to kind of ‘build some gumption’ and place some things for sale. Not a profit making exercise, more a ‘make space and re-coup some of the cash spent on buying materials to make things, so that I can buy more supplies to make more things’. I can no longer stand the ‘nervous twitch’ old Cobs the Bogeyman has developed whenever I say those words: “I need to buy . . . ” LOL.

If you like Fairy, … but would kind of enjoy a little fun and laughter, you’ll like what’s coming next week. 🙂 Little Cobs fell so much in love with the one ‘thing’ which I’ll share next week, that I had to prise it out of his fingers, and tempt (read ‘bribe’) him with 3 Aero Mint Bubbles. lol (I’ve always worked on the theory: ‘Know your childs currency’. With his mom it was her cell phone. With him, it’s anything minty. LOL)

I LOVE that your little one made a Fairy Door at pre school! What a great pre-school! I love that they’re encouraging little imaginations to twinkle, sparkle and glow! Brilliant. 🙂

Right … what made me think of you this week . . .
I was sent an email from The Works, and they’ve now branched out in their Crafting things and are selling wool (yarn)! (Link at the end of this reply).
Now I’m not sure if it’s the wool/yarn you would use as I’m not ‘up’ on that sort of thing, BUT … it was the colours of their wool which gave my heart a little burst of joy. They have Fairy Colours – where different colours/tones blend into each other. They do a fair amount of different colours, also do some in a different ‘thickness’ or chunkiness. There’s one chunky in particular – it looked (to me) like a Macaw Parrot is hidden in a ball of wool!!! LOL
(They do sell plain colours too).

Not sure of the quality or anything which would be important to a knitter, but I just had to share it with you – just in case.

So happy you’ve joined in the giveaway. Great to see you, and thank you for the lovely comment. ~ Cobs.xxx
p.s. hope you’ve stuck that fairy door on the skirting board, or on the wall of her bedroom, so that the fairies can visit! ~ C. x

      1. I shall keep an eye out for next week’s post! Thanks for the wool link, I haven’t bought any wool for ages so I think that technically makes you an ‘enabler’ lol. Us crafty folk can’t help but encourage stash additions 😂 x

  14. Oh Cobs, these are so cute. I know I am so far behind in reading the blogs I follow. This year has been full of so many ups and downs (more downs than ups I’m afraid). I need to make time to craft. I just read an article on how it is really good for the brain to craft….I need to make the time. Here’s the link to the article in case you are interested….https://www.sciencealert.com/modern-life-is-brutal-here-s-why-craft-is-so-good-for-our-health 🙂

    1. Ooooo.. I shall go and have a read. Thank you for that Nancee. 😀

Have to admit that I know crafting has been something of a rock for me. It enables the brain to put down what it’s carrying around, and instead pick up something entirely different, which isn’t at all heavy nor stress filled.

I’m able to set my mind free once I settle into something I want to make – and it’s a lovely place to just ‘be’. I stop being ‘me’, and become just a child, having a time of quiet enjoyment and peace. I love it. I wouldn’t be without it.

So yes Nancee…. YOU do need to craft. You’ve had too many things which you’ve been carrying around and taking responsibility for. Crafting would bring your psyche back into alignment, and enable you some time(s) to help your own heart, mind, soul and spirit to become ‘still’ for a while.

Please book yourself some time to do some crafting. I think this is something which would do you so much good.
Remember, you need to take care of yourself as well as taking care of everyone and everything else.

Thank you for coming Nancee, and for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment.

      1. Thanks Cobs! I am certainly going to try to squeeze in some time for crafting. The next week or so could be extremely difficult as we have been told my boss might not be here next week. So sad. My heart is breaking with the thought. 😢

  15. Oh 🐀🐁🐀🐁🐀🐁🐀 I missed this giveaway….

I do agree re: a different doctor though…I saw a different one the other day about my wretched laryngitis which is still affecting my voice and left with a referral for ENT and a bloodtest request. Less pleased about the latter, but hoping you are feeling better 😺💕xxx

    1. Well after 6+ years, I finally have a diagnosis – so that’s a step forward. I now know what the bu*ger looks like that I’m doing battle with.

Well… from the sound of it I’m rather glad you saw a different doctor. You’ve had that hanging around for far too long. You need it sorting out properly, and it sounds like they’re moving in the right direction now.

Let me know how you get on, poppet.

      1. Good evening, dear Cobs, the first chance I have had to reply! I fell asleep last night and woke with my phone glued to the side of my face and tangled in my hair…

Now I am just catching up before my weekly dose of that lovely man Monty, talking soothingly about the best care of callas and how to stake your tomatoes…

If you can, get hold of some clear quartz – it’s known as the “Master Healer”, also if your issue is bone/joint related, thyme oil. A few drops in a carrier oil applied to aches is useful. I am wishing very hard for good health and fortitude for you,,,crystals on my wishing tree for you too…

I had a phone call from the ENT department… an appointment in two weeks…oo-er…think I’ll have those ice lollies now please!

Lots of love to you and enjoy the incomparable Monty! 🙂 xxx

        1. I have a feeling that I actually have a piece of clear quartz in my crystals box. I’ll check that out later today, and if I do (and aren’t just imagining it), I’ll get it out and carry it around with me.
          Thanks for that, Samantha.

Thyme oil . . . haven’t tried this before, so next time I’m in town, I’ll seek some out and give it a go.

I’m so glad that you have an appointment. I know (oh, don’t I know!) how medical appointments can feel daunting (and I’ve been known to cancel appointments and re-book for a later date, just so I can work up to them more) – but at least it will be done and from that moment you’re heading in the right direction, instead of trying to swim in choppy water and worrying.

Better to know for sure either way than to pretend to ignore it and wait for it to go away whilst worrying yourself silly, when it could be totally nothing at all apart from needing some sort of spray to sooth a harmless problem, or tablet to get rid of an infection.

          Keep me posted, Missy.
In the meantime . . . I’m having a chat with God about you and this problem.
