I never, ever, ever, EVER paint cats. Big ones or small ones … never. They have such lush fur and they wear it so well, that I find it really difficult to capture – even with just a pencil drawing cannot do them justice. Therefore it’s easier to just not paint or draw them at all.
So what went wrong here then? I don’t know. I have no idea what form of madness came over me which made me think I could paint a leopard.

A pamphlet came courtesy of the postman today (Monday – as I’m typing this). It was a crafting/painting/sewing/you name it, it covered or mentioned it. Inside was a terrific picture of a Leopard and I sat admiring him. Then this little stray thought came wheedling its way into my brain, and . . . the dreadful, dirty, deed was done.
I went to my craft room to paint an ATC for the World Watercolour Month Challenge and I decided I would have a bash at painting the Leopard. What. An. Idiot!
I can’t paint cats of any sort. They’re too wonderful for me to try to paint. But I gave it a go and although the finished result isn’t a total disaster, no self-respecting Leopard would want to own up to being the Leopard which Cobs put together like some really bad painting by numbers jovial delight.
I told Mr.Cobs that I couldn’t put it on the blog as it wasn’t good enough. He disagreed and told me to post it. So … I’m posting it … but it’s his idea it’s here, so we’ll blame him.

And that’s all there is to today’s show and tell!
Happy Tuesday!
You got past Monday then? Good-o! Well that means there’s only 4 days left, now that sounds MUCH better than the original 5. Not only that, but the original 5 had that most awful of days in it … Monday. The four days you have here doesn’t have any day beginning with the three letters: Mon. No ‘Mon’ at all. None of the remaining days even have even just one of those letters in their own first three!
Check it out: Tue. Wed. Thu. Fri. See? No M. No O. and finally …. No N. Isn’t this now the greatest week on earth, ever??!!
Wishing you a terrific Tuesday, filled with a little laughter, some lovely smiles and … a smattering of love.
Have a thoroughly groovy one, my friends ~
Your Mr. Cobs is a smart man. You should keep him around. I find this quite a lovely interpretation. Those of us who can only manage to draw a stick worm are incredibly jealous of your talent.

LOL… yeah, I decided after 36 years of marriage that I just couldn’t go through all that training again, so I’m keeping him. (Besides, I can’t find the receipt for him so couldn’t take him back even if I wanted to!) lol
My talent? Talent? Me? ScrappyE…. have you been drinking?
I’m still waiting for my special talent to show up… unless it’s a talent for making a right ol’ mess in my craft room .. oh… and dropping things on the floor which I then can’t find!
I swear to dog that my craft room floor is Dorsets answer to the Bemuda Triangle! (Dorset – the place where I live)
Aww lol… love you ScrappyE. You’re a Giggle Maestro!

Your big cat is sweet. Maybe you wanted him to be fierce and majestic, but this was the only side he showed you. I’d say pat him on the head and go on to your next miniature. I haven’t thought of it before, but an artist can’t love all his creations equally. Maybe if you lined them all up, your sweet cat would fit in better than you think.

Anne, you are so wise.
You’re right… artists really don’t love all their creations equally. I’ve read about some of the great artists of our times and most of them had ‘love it’ problems with all of their works of art.
But … I don’t think I’ll ever love this little chap. I love parts of him, but I don’t love bits I haven’t portrayed correctly or haven’t quite got the light/shade right.
Thank you for your fabulous comment Anne. I shall look at him in a different way now.
And yes … will be moving on to my next ATC later today. 😀
Sending love ~ Cob. xx

This is lovely. There’s an innocence in his face which is so appealing.
It’s good that Mr Cobs takes an interest, His Lordship has almost no recollection that I even know what a blog is!

LOLOLOL….
Mr. C is brilliant and will read my blog posts every morning… mainly to see if I’ve done any typos, bless him. But he does take an interest.
Our daughters however, haven’t, I don’t think, ever read even so much as one blog post. Yup, seriously.
It isn’t their ‘thing’ apparently.
I think that even though they will both be in their 30’s this year (one in her mid thirties, the other turns 30 soon) they both still have a young outlook and that reading your mothers blog just isn’t ‘cool’ – besides, they’re both busy mummies with lives of their own.
I don’t take offence. It’s just them.
So .. you aren’t alone in your lack of interest from a member of your family Isn’t She C.
I think we probably all have someone who has no interest in this thing called Blogging. But hey .. it doesn’t matter because we all make up for the lack of ‘love’ by loving each others blogs! WIN!! ❤
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Bless your beautiful heart.

Well you knew I’d love this 💕 his colouring is delicate, yet fierce and I love the way he’s lifting his head up, almost as if for a stroke. You might not be completely happy yourself, but I think he’s a lovely leopard… I’m in the ‘stick worm’ category myself… lol. Lots of love to you 😺💕 xxx

LOL.. stick worm. I so love that description.
You CAN paint. I’m wondering if it’s drawing you have a problem with. If so … I can remove that problem for you. 😀

Hello, Mr Cobs is a very smart chap – your leopard is certainly blog worthy. He is gorgeous with such a determined look in his eye. Hoping to catch up with all your posts soon – my internet connection has had a little holiday so I have fallen behind with the world of WordPress 😦 Hxx

I was just starting to wonder where you’d gone. I presumed Holibobs because school holidays had come around.
Hope you and yours are all fighting fit and wearing your super-hero costumes. 😀

Ahhh Cobs!! I saw that picture and just kind of went , :WOW! I think this one is perfect and I am so glad you listened to Mr. Cobs on this one. (You know the obedient wife and all that stuff was promised years ago in those wedding vows…….)
Love seeing what you will come up with next.

I do believe that we both agreed that one thing we didn’t expect from me was obedience.
Seriously Chicken. You KNOW me.
Obedient?

Tell Mr. Cobs he was right! Whew, and now on to Thursday…..I believe on yesterday’s post I said it was Thursday…silly me! I have my calendar all mixed up! LOL 🙂

The leopard … I’m still not happy with him but I tried, and I’m glad I did because it’s better than not trying at all. (well… it is for me, anyway). 🙂
Thank you for your lovely comment.

Dearest Cobs,
It’s true felines are magical creatures that defy any type of “cat”egorization! But you have done a fantastic job with the expression on his furry little polka dotted face! He looks like he is so overwhelmingly bored with all humans. I love his teeny tiny emerald eyes and his teeny tiny tickly whiskers! I am just purring with delight at this teeny tiny kitty cat! (And now the dogs are off again thinking that I’ve turned into a cat.)
Sending blessings that are brighter than a leopard’s eyes to you and yours dear Cobs!

Oh Lord, I stressed over this sooooo much. The shading wasn’t right and needed a slightly darker shade on the side of his nose, by the tip. It was just …. aw… this is why I don’t paint cats. It’s like trying to photograph a black cat. Many people can’t do it…. but just a few can. Sadly I’m on the can’t team. lol
Thank you for the lovely words. Bless you.

Looking at this painting, I have to disagree, Cobs… but stressing over something does take the pleasure away, so you have to ask if it is worth it…

I don’t think it will ever be my favourite Tom, so perhaps not …. but by the time I’d got to his nose shading, he was, ‘all but damn it is to swearing’, done. At that point I fell out with the ATC, and said a baaaad word. tsk tsk.
