Snail Mail ~ an ATC/ACEO – painted for World Watercolour Month

#WorldWatercolorMonth

Happy Tuesday!  As you can see I’m attempting to continue with the World Watercolour Month Challenge, and todays offering is done with a big nod to the fun aspect of doing this challenge.

Can you work out why I’ve titled this little,  two and a half inches  by  three and a half inches,  ATC/ACEO  ‘Snail Mail‘?

Here …  take another look…

Snail Mail 3
‘Snail Mail’.  An ATC / ACEO Painted for  #WorldWatercolorMonth

…  worked it out yet?  I’m sure you have but just in case there’s someone who’s still half asleep and not got their brain up and running yet …  That thing on the side of the snail … is a Postage Stamp.  It’s even got a teeny tiny painting of the Queens head on it, and she’s wearing a crown!

Soit’s a snail, which looks like it’s going to be posted somewhere because of the postage stamp …  so it’s  +Snail  +  Mail  Snail Mail!   😀

You’ll never guess what I did though.  Do you remember that I painted a Rooster (Rodney) a few days ago … but painted him just a little too big for the mounts I like to use around ATC’s/ACEO’s?   Well … I did it again …  take a look…

Snail Mail 1
#WorldWatercolorMonth

See …  didn’t I tell you I’d do it again!   I’ve cut his BTM off!  How on earth is he going to leave that magical fairy trail behind him now?!  Did you know that a snail leaves that Shimmering Fairy Trail so that he can find his way home again?  It’s his personal SatNav.  Snails had SatNavs loooong before they were thought of for us!

Nooooo  don’t be so gullible  ….  that’s a pile of pooh.  I made that up so don’t go round repeating that as a ‘fact’ – because the whole world will believe it!  (Actually … that could be really funny.  The whole world believing that a snail has its own SatNav!  LOL  The more I think about that the funnier it gets! LOL …  I’m actually sat here typing this and giggling my head off!  Ahhh I do love funny!).

I get so ‘into’ what I’m doing when I’m painting, – especially so when I’ve only got a little bit of time to do something in, –  and all the plans and pencil guidelines all disappear into thin air and I go crazy with the paint!  tsk tsk.  Maybe it’s the paint fumes?  Those watercolours ….  they must give off paint fumes.  That’s what it is.  It’s not me being a dope.  I’m obviously high on watercolour paint fumes!

(and if you believe that,  you’ll believe that I can knit jelly! –   ‘Jello’ for our USA friends).

Anyhoo…  I painted a snail.   Watercolour paper + paint + brushes + water!    And that,  as they say,  is all there was to it!

Wishing you a Tip Top Tuesday!  May you have a truly happy day, and may you share your smile with others.  How about paying someone a compliment today?  It can be a ‘You always look so great!’.  Or …  ‘Your hair looks lovely.’  Or …  ‘I really like your car.  It suits you.  Great choice!’  Or …  anything.  Like someone’s shoes.  Tell someone how much you admire their dedication.  Tell someone they look brilliant in *that* colour!  Like someones perfume.

Anything …  You know what you feel comfortable with.  If you just aren’t into giving compliments, then make someone a surprise cup of coffee or tea.  Or buy the section you work on at work a pack of biscuits for afternoon tea.   Just make someone smile!

From me …. to you …  I think you’re amazing.  You come and visit me nearly every time I post something and I adore seeing you.  So from me, to you,  a BIG

… THANK YOU!

I really appreciate you coming and relish having you as a blogging friend.  Sending much love and squidges,  from me in my corner, to you in yours.  Have a truly blessed day.

Hello. I'm 'Cobwebs'. I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck! This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium. I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form. One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'. Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows. I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course). I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash. Thank you so much for visiting. Please visit my blog (link below) and have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy, even if it's only a handful of jokes! (yes, seriously - there really are jokes!) Wishing you a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. <3

    1. LOL … awww Anne, I’m very much a fun finder, and if I don’t find it then I’ll make it happen. Being ‘sensible’ all the time drives me craaaazy, so naturally the fun does come out to play rather a lot.
(But I do try to keep it reigned in and test the waters to see how some smiles will ‘go down’ before I open the gates and let it loose as not everyone is a fun lover. lol)

Thrilled to pieces that you love the snail mail, and even more thrilled that you (for a moment there) adopted ‘Squidges’!!!
Aww… a truly grand moment in the Tuesday Morning of Cobs! (and I’m giggling with delight! lol)
Sending BIG squidges to you Anne ~ Cobs. x ❤

      1. Today needs to be a lot better than yesterday. Not really sick but not well either. Just a bad day . the grands did come by for a spell and left good news. They’re dad( and my #3 ) is back on USA soil. Eight weeks is to long but they got the rig moved. He will not be home until later this week for they put him in a class in NO first. Good grief …these kids miss their dad.,but my DnL handles things really well.
love the idea the snail leaves a trail to find his way back.. You really must write a book XOXO to all the Cobs

        1. Oh Beverly I’m so saddened to hear that yesterday was *hitty and that you’re not really feeling on top form.

I wonder if perhaps the weather is affecting you? I know that the heat affects me and makes my problems worse in such a way that I feel someone has put a powerful microscope on them and made them LARGE sized.

Could the heat be the problem?

If not this … then I feel that a wee trip to see the doctor is advised. I know that you probably don’t want to bother … but I think it’s important that you should go sooner rather than later. If there is something wrong – a virus or … well ‘something’ – then the sooner they find out about it, the quicker they can treat it and you’ll be firing on all cylinders again.

Please consider it, my wonderful friend. There’s nothing to lose by going.

Thrilled to hear that No.3 son, husband to DnL and daddy to the children, is back on home turf and will be back home with his family within the next few days.

The ‘snail trail’ … y’know Bev, we all leave a trail behind us, don’t we. One which leads us home again. It’s a trail which is left by our heart.

Sending you my love, and praying for Angels to surround you with their healing light, making you feel better again.
Love you, my funny, fabulous friend. ~ Cobs. x

          1. The weather has leveled off a but I think it was something I ate that shouldn’t have or something I should have and didn’t. Who knows but I am some what better just not up to snuff.

            1. I’m relieved that you’re feeling a bit better today.
Take it easy. Maybe you’re doing too much. Spreading yourself too thinly. You’re not Super Woman. (That’s not your job!)
Just ‘be’. Just sit down with a cup of tea/coffee and relax. Let the world go past.
Do you think you need some help from a strapping lad a couple of times a week? Mowing, digging, planting, pulling up, painting, just doing the hard stuff that you’re not made for Beverly?

Please, please be kind to yourself. If you were giving a lady in your position, think about what advice you’d give her. THEN TAKE THAT ADVICE!

I love you Beverly and want you to just cut yourself some slack.
Sending you ooodles of love ~ Cobs. x

Stay cool. Are you close enough to the sea to enjoy it.? I’m thinking cool ocean breezes. Love to all

                1. Well I wish you’d have been here today, for (finally) the rains they’ve kept promising arrived, and everything is SO much fresher and cooler. (But the sun and the heat are back tomorrow and apparently this weekend is going to be a hot one. sigh).

Yes, very close to the sea, infact, we went to get some groceries today and since we bought nothing frozen we did a slight detour and went to visit the sea. Even though it was raining, we wound down the windows of the car, just so we could sit watching and smelling that beautiful sea air.

Cobs Snr. and I are going to visit our favourite beach this week – before too many more holiday makers arrive, as we want to have our last chance before then to do my favourite walk – along where the sea meets the sand, and tickles my toes. I am made for that magical place. Something quite incredible happens when one walks along the edge of the sea.
When I go, I shall be thinking of you, and will ask the breeze to blow you a kiss from me – and take it across the sea, over the land and direct to you and another on the nose of Babe.
Cobs Snr. and I send our love to you Beverly. xxx

    1. Hello Flo.
      I’m actually laughing loudly here…
See – here’s the thing … as my fingers tapped it out, I ‘knew’ no one was going to believe me… but then … when I got to the end of the sentence and had a moment to think … I realised that not everyone shares my sense of silly and that it could happen that one or two people would go out into the world with this new found knowledge and begin ‘educating’ other people about this little bit of wonderment which Snails possessed.

So that’s when I thought I’d better just tell everyone that what I’d just said was a pile of pooh and not to take it as a true fact.
I could have just deleted what I’d written…. but then, I argued with myself, that would be no fun at all. So admitting that I’d made that bit up was way funnier – so that’s what I did. And … I’m SO glad that I did because otherwise you’d have, by now, told half of your country that this was indeed true. LOLOLOL.

Aww heck, I’m still laughing out very loud here and Mr.Cobs is giving me one of those “you’ve gone into that place that only you know about, you crazy woman!” looks which he does SO well.

And with this, I will ditto what you said, purely because I like the way it sounds as it trips off my tongue …
HASTA LA PASTA! (I’ll be back, as Arnie says)
      love ~ Cobs. xxx ❤ ❤

I don’t like waiting too long for mail to arrive, and sometimes it has been awhile and I forget about it unless it arrives and then it’s like Christmas. 🙂

    1. Hello Soozy
Yes, mail can sometimes take an age to arrive. I’m waiting for a little parcel of flowers I ordered last month – the 6th I think, and boy oh boy is it getting worrying now. I’m wondering if the package has got lost in the post.

But … everything will work out in the end. The post … life… the universe. It all seems to find a way to work out in the end.

    1. Who? Me? You’ve got the wrong person there Mrs.C. ‘Genius’ has never been used as a descriptive word for me. ‘Crazy’. ‘Daft Head’. ‘Loony’. And daughter No.2 sent me a message over Wats-Ap (or What-Ap, Watts-app …. or something like that) … and her message read: “Mom … you’re a WEIRDO!”

All I’d sent to her was a photograph of ‘Snail Mail’ … and told her it’s name.
WEIRDO was what I got back.

Can you see what I’m up against here?

LOL. Awww Love you Mrs.C. You’re just so yummtious!
Than you for the visit and the lovely comment.
      God Bless your heart.

  5. Lovely snail-adorned-with-stamp, Cobs. Those fairy trails you mention criss-cross the Grinds with symmetrical regularity. Did you know snails are guided by Ley Lines? Find a snail and you’ll be near a Ley Line…🐌

    1. When I find a snail, he goes on his hollibobs and flies by air, first class.

Hmm… they are guided by Ley Lines? … Wow .. I didn’t know that. I shall have to be educationmalised more on the subject of snails.
