Petunia Piggy – ATC/ACEO No.2 – for World Watercolour Month
In case any of you missed yesterdays post, July is World Watercolour Month. You can find out more about this, here:- Doodlewash <—click. The challenge is to paint a watercolour a day for the month of July. Now I know I won’t be able to paint a watercolour every day, but I’m going to try my hardest to paint as many days as possible and share them on the blog here.
Yesterday was a pot of Auriculas. Today is the turn of … Petunia Pig.
Petunia is a folky sort of girl, a Gloucestershire Old Spot (a pedigree pig) – who has a love of grass and any thing she can eat in order to keep her fine figure.
Aw, enough of me waffling. I shall share Petunia with you … She’s painted in watercolours, on 140lb watercolour paper, and she’s in ATC/ACEO size – so just 2.5″ x 3.5″.
No longer the baby … she’s a big girl now. 😀
Hope your Sunday was peaceful and that you found something to smile about. Have a lovely rest of your day!

Hello.
I'm 'Cobwebs'.
I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck!
This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium.
I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form.
One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'.
Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows.
I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course).
I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash.
Thank you so much for visiting. Please visit my blog (link below) and have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy, even if it's only a handful of jokes! (yes, seriously - there really are jokes!)
Wishing you a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. <3

I adore pigs, they are so smart. Petunia is gorgeous as is your ATC.
Oh such a cutie! Another great project!…I keep thinking about getting those water colors out! I think I better get my birthday cards done first….only 1 down and 10 more to go! LOL!
You are so talented! I would have painted a pink blob. Petunia looks absolutely content in your watercolor. Nothing is better than a content pig… except for a content cat.
Hello ScrappyEsc
Aw thank you for your beautiful comment. Bless your beautiful heart.
I totally agree with you about the best thing being a contented cat. Ohh very much so!
Thank you so much for coming ScrappyEsc. it’s fabulous to see you.

Ah, Petunia is a particularly pretty pig. I adore her curli-que tail and her “almost there” grin. I’m certain she’s quite proud to have been captured in watercolor while looking her best. If I was painted in watercolors, I should only HOPE to be looking and feeling my best. I think watercolors are a magical invention. Have you ever seen one that didn’t speak to your heart, in one emotion or another? I’m forever taken by them.
Ohhh you HAVE to buy some and let yourself play, Landrybaby!
You could then blog your progress, and people would be so inspired that you’d done this. You’d be SO inspiring to others who, like you, would like to paint but don’t!
Yes! Do it landry!
Thank you so much for coming and for your lovely comment. It’s great chatting to you. ~ Cobs. x 😊
Hello Samantha!
Aw what a fabulous little memory prompt Petunia has been, taking you back just a few years (only a few, because we all know you’re only 17 years old) to remember your pig story book when you were little! 🙂
Thrilled you like her.
Thank you so much for coming and for such a lovely comment. Have a blessed day Samantha! ~ Cobs. x
Tomorrow will be a handmade card … but I have painted a little ATC today.
Problem is … do I double post and annoy everyone with things from me… or do I just do one thing a day? Decisions, decisions. sigh.
lol

Hey friend, how are you? I feel like I’ve been absent for so long I may be forgotten. Health issues have kept my nose in books and my fingers off of keyboards…
Hello Jessica.
How are you?
It’s the funniest thing because it was sometime yesterday when I said to nobody in particular … “I haven’t seen Jessica for a few days. Maybe she’s on holiday.”
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been fighting some health problems. Are you better? On the mend still? Or??
Sending love from my corner to yours. and sending prayers, Heaven bound, that you be made well ~ Cobs. x
Awww. You are always Heaven sent. I am fairing ok right now. Been having awful headaches and food allergies. Getting some testing done and hope to have some clues in a few weeks… Thank you for your prayers.
Oh gosh! Aw I hope they find out the cause, and that they fix you with special glue and some crafting card. If they need supplies tell them to email me and I’ll send over anything they’re short of. 😉
Sending oodles of love.
Please take care and REST. ~ Cobs. x
Oh my goodness… how kind of you Anna.
Thank you.
Bless your beautiful heart.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, and for coming for a visit.

Petunia the pig is precious. I’ve loved pigs since I read Charlotte’s Web when young. I also like the idea of these very small pieces of art. It seems it would be fun to arrange several complementary pieces on a wall. Surely people would approach them and really look at them as opposed to glancing at a large painting and thinking, “Oh, that’s nice,” and bustling along to the next item on their agendas.
You’re absolutely right! You have to properly see them rather than just get an idea of them, because they’re so small. They’re roughly the size of some business cards – so you can imagine that in your hand and visualise the size.
I think you’d be great with them Aunt Beulah. Your personality and peacefulness makes me think that you and an ATC would get along. You should try it. You don’t have to do watercolours … you can use any paint that you have … or you can just decorate an ATC/ACEO in any style of your choosing – even glue and stick. So long as you don’t go over that magical size 2..5″ x 3.5″…. and that’s all there is to the rules!
I think you did a nice job capturing Petunia and all her splendor. What a treat to have watercolor art delivered to my computer this month. I will look forward to seeing your work!
Thank you Morning Scrapper! What a lovely comment. Bless your heart.
Thank you so much for coming and for leaving a comment. Love chatting with you. Have a blessed rest of your day ~ Cobs. x
Brilliant! Adore Petunia. Beautifully painted Cobs. Love pigs. I have always wanted a pot bellied pig. It will never happen but one can dream hey! Can’t wait to see more of your artwork.
Hugs Flo xx
Awww thank you Florence.
Why not paint a pig for yourself? Painting a folksy style pig like this one isn’t as difficult as you might think it is. You could paint it on a bigger scale and then frame it and hang it in your home! Then you’d really have your very own pig!
Thank you for your really lovely comment Flo, and for visiting.
Sending oodles of love and squidges ~ Cobs. x 😀
Love folk art. Might give it a go. I haven’t done any for years. Not sure what it would turn out like though. LOL! Thanks for the inspiration as always.

How did I miss this? Someone is messing with my PC again.I love pigs. We raised them two different times and there is nothing cuter than a baby pig.I’ll have to look up pictures to share of our Tamworths.
Ohhhh I’d LOVE that Beverly!
Aw how lovely. Little Baby Pigs are just SO adorable – apart from when you pick them up and they scream like billyo! Sheesh! You’d think they were being eaten alive instead of being given a cuddle. lol. Mind you, if a giant pig picked me up when I was little, I think I’d yell three colours of murder too. So all’s fair, (as my Grandma used to say). lol

Hi Cobs, I’m somewhat significantly behind right now, so I’m stealing a few minutes in a desperate attempt to catch up! I’m loving Petunia, all piglike and all now… she was such a cute pigling as well. I’m replying on my mobile phone, which is taking forever – especially when it continues to auto correct pigling to ‘piling’. How very dare it. But… back to blogging. I will do this!
Aww Tom… you’ve given me such a laugh here! I have this vision of you … sat somewhere in work (the loo? LOL!! ok, laughing again now!) trying to catch up on everyones blog posts which you’ve missed for … oh crumbs, I don’t know … three days?
Now I know from experience (when I was a whittle bit poorly), that catching up with everyone took me hours … and hours… and I never thought I’d get there. But I can see from all the Orange Tom circles over on my ‘bell’ alerts, that you’re going for a gold medal in the Catching Up Event! Aw bless you, you funny, amazing chap.
Glad you like Petunia Piggy. I bet she’s smiling at this comment too!
(still got a chuckle going on here! LOL
