Words I love to read:- “Your Internet Service is Down Right Now”

Actually noyour internet service is probably working fine and dandy, it’s just mine and several hundred Virgin Media customers who are paying for a service which isn’t being delivered.

Since around last week in March we’ve had pixellated TV and the very worst Internet/Broadband access we’ve ever had – and that’s including dial-up!  With Dial-Up you could pop off and make a cup of tea, but still hear the comforting squeaks and pips of the connection attempt as it was happening.  Now, we sit and watch that little icy blue circle spin around and around and around and …. on and on until your eyes are bloodshot,  all your teeth fall out, your hair goes grey and all your little grey cells have popped inside your head, turning you into a zombified being of fierce anger!

So dearest readers …  it is this which is keeping me away from my blog, and not me being an old lazy-bones!

The Internet Gods must be smiling on our house this afternoon for the little yellow exclamation mark has disappeared from over the icon for ‘internet access’, so I’m taking the opportunity to say hello to you, send crafty vibes and tell you that I wish many blessings come your way, and say of course that when I’ve loaded my photos (and have internet access), I shall be here with craftiness and inky fingers. (normal situation. lol).

In the meantime … sending you love

Author: The Art of Cobwebs - aka:- thecobweboriumemporium

Hello. I'm 'Cobwebs'. I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck! This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium. I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form. One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'. Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows. I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course). I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash. Thank you so much for visiting. Please visit my blog (link below) and have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy, even if it's only a handful of jokes! (yes, seriously - there really are jokes!) Wishing you a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. <3

  1. So frustrating when the internet is down and a scary reminder of how reliant we are on it now. My kids look at me aghast when I tell them that I grew up with no wifi or kids tv all day long. The worst punishment we can give for bad behaviour is turning the wifi off. Sad but true. I hope your internet Gods remain smiling down on you so normal blogging service can be resumed 🙂 Hannah x

    1. How true, Hannah! I haven’t realised how vulnerable it leaves us until now. We changed to banking on-line and all our credit cards and household bills (gas, electric, water) are all now paperless, so without the internet things began to get really scarey. I hate not being able to check my bank account or credit cards, to make sure that no one has taken money without my permission, or incorrectly, and these past weeks with little or no internet has been an absolute nightmare situation.

Am hoping all the time that it’s going to be fixed once and for all. Keeping fingers, eyes, toes, legs, and arms crossed. (not looking my most attractive, but hope runs high. lol)
      Sending love ~ Cobs. x

  2. Oh dear, how annoying! It’s our connection to the world! I hope it returns properly very soon as stays that way forever. In the meantime, you can prepare some great goodies for us to drool over and admire when you come back with a vengence! 😉

  3. I feel for you, I would be lost without mine, but I do have a tablet that connects via sim, so maybe you could ask for a birthday present? Hope you are back up and running soon 🙂
