I am very rarely given anything handmade by someone else, which is such a huge sadness to me because I love handmade things.  So imagine my heart soaring surprise when my fantastic delivery lady brought me this incredible work of heart.

Made from Scrabble letter tiles, to spell out the words – but not just any words.  They’re words which she associates with us.  It must have taken an age to plan it out,  and work out how to make the right words work with each other.  It’s such a truly wonderful work of art and I’m thrilled to have it – so much so that I’m in awe of it.

The ‘cobweb’ is made from sparkly, twinkly black wool and is so beautifully done!  She even went to the great trouble of making the fabulous backing paper herself!  I love it, and love my delivery lady too.  She’s the most incredible lady and I’m so very lucky to have her.  She’s always so happy, so cheerful, so quick to smile, so caring,  and … I love her to pieces just for being the person she is.

I should have actually shared this some weeks ago when I first received it, but between one thing and another I didn’t manage to get it to the blog here.  But better late than never, as they say.  This phenomenal gift lives in my craft room and hangs on the wall above my printer where I see it every time I enter and leave the room.  It makes me feel all warm and loved up when I see it  – as it’s kind of a visible validation that someone cares enough about me to take the time and trouble to make something so very special, just for me .  It’s an instant warmth to the heart and smile to the face.

Hello. I'm 'Cobwebs'. I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck! This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium. I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form. One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'. Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows. I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course). I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash. Thank you so much for visiting.   5. oh, it is beautiful – what a thoughtful gift. I am glad you had the perfect spot to hang it where you can enjoy it every day. Hope you are doing well this spring. Are you getting good weather there? Our strange winter has unfolded into an odd spring, but I think things are finally moving in the right direction. 😉

      Ahh.. well Spring arrived in the most glorious way here, with lots of promise and bright, sunny skies. For a few days. Then it went very cold, rather windy and poured down for days. However (whispering this in the hope that the weather Gods won’t hear me …)… the last few days have been the most wonderful surprise after all the rain we had. It’s sunny. I have washing on the line drying. There’s a gentle breeze and my cats are toasting themselves in the warm spots in the garden.

      And what’s even better … I’m off to my craftroom to continue making the mini album I’m building & putting together about my Grandsons Birthday. We went to the beach a couple of days ago … sadly it was a bit too breezy, so my Grandson, the Big Man (husband) and I had a picnic in the car. He LOVED it. Bless him.
      All’s right with the world here in my corner.
      I hope that your weather there continues to improve and you too experience some great days of glorious weather.

      1. I am glad that things are looking up in the weather department! It seems we have all had crazy springs. I plan to post about something my brother said the other day – indicating the changeability of our weather. Yesterday was rainy, today they promise clouds. But we really do need the rain, s I hope it keeps coming for a few more days. It will make it easier to ignore yard work and paint bookcases after work. 🙂

        Your picnic in the car sounds fun!

        1. When it’s raining here and I’m wishing it would stop I remind myself that God doesn’t tell me when to water my garden, so I don’t think I should moan about him watering his. Somehow it makes the whole thing so much more easy for me to get around.

  6. What a fantastic gift and so thoughtful. I was delighted years ago when my sister gave me a sock monkey she had made as I understood the time and effort she had put into it and it is very cute.

      Sock Monkeys! Ohhh they’re so cute and so lovely. My daughter (now grown up and with a family of her own) used to make sock monkeys and give them to friends. She had a ball of a time making them and each of them seemed to have it’s own personality.
