The Life Train

I received an email today and loved it so much that I felt compelled to come and post it on my blog in order to share it.

Some of you may have read it before (and maybe have forgotten about it), but, some of you, like me,  might not have seen it at all before,  and I’m hoping that it speaks to you in the same way it did to me.  It explains the ‘Journey of Life’ that we’re all making,  in such a simple, but truly wonderful way.  I hope you like it . . .

The Life Train

At birth we board a train and meet our parents.  We believe they will always travel by our side.  However, at some station, our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.

As time goes by, other people will board the train, and they will be significant – siblings, friends, the love of your life, children, and many others.  Some will step down and leave a permanent vacuum.  Others will go so unnoticed that we won’t realize they vacated their seats.

The train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hello’s, goodbye’s, and farewells.  A successful ride requires having a good relationship with all passengers.  We must give the best of ourselves.

The mystery to everyone is, we do not know at which station we ourselves will step down.  So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are.  It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.

I wish you a joyful journey on the train of life.  Reap success and give lots of love.   More importantly;  thank God for the journey.

Thank you for being one of the passengers on my train.

Have a truly wonderful, blessed day.  ~

Author: The Art of Cobwebs - aka:- thecobweboriumemporium

Hello. I'm 'Cobwebs'. I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck! This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium. I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form. One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'. Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows. I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course). I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash. Thank you so much for visiting. Please visit my blog (link below) and have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy, even if it's only a handful of jokes! (yes, seriously - there really are jokes!) Wishing you a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. <3

    1. Thank you so much for leaving that link, LemonD. I hadn’t seen/read the ‘Trip to Holland’ before but it all made so much sense to me. We have a disabled child in the family and so I can relate to the words, for I see both the child and parents very regularly and so can see how Emily came to feel the feelings which she wrote about.

Thank you for the share of that. I’ve emailed the link to some of my family members (including the parents of the child) because I think it will mean a lot to them too.
Sending love, as always. ~ Cobs. x

    2. I hope that you get a notification of this message, LemonD, because I’ve got no other way of contacting you. I can no longer leave any comments on your blog. It keeps telling me that I can’t leave a comment unless I sign in – the problem is that I’m already signed in; but I thought I’d play along with the system and sign in again … however my computer throws up a warning saying that my sign in details are being sent to another site instead of the WordPress site. The sign in page looks like the WordPress site – but it’s a ‘scam’ page which is obviously collecting emails and passwords.

So there are two reasons I’m dropping this note onto my blog:
One is to let you know that something is wrong and you might have to approach the guys at WordPress to help you sort it out, because it might be doing that to others as well as me.
Secondly … I wanted you to know that I am reading your blog, but I can’t comment because it won’t let me. If you’re missing comments from other followers who would normally leave a little ‘calling card’ to let you know that they’d read your posts, or to leave feedback, or little lovelies … then it might be that other folks are finding the same problem as I am.

Going to post this comment to my blog now, and hope that you get a notification to let you know I’ve left you a reply to a comment here, so that you get this message.

      1. Hey Cobs! I got your message. I’ll look into it. I wondered because everyone quit talking to me, but I’m still getting visits. Which is nice. It happened when I went self-hosted.

Maybe if you’re going through a wordpress page to get to me it’s being goofy? I dunno. Here is my website link.

        Thanks for the head’s up!

        1. Ohhh I’m SO glad that I thought of doing a ‘reply’ to one of your comments here so that I could get in touch with you, otherwise you’d eventually started to think that you’d ticked everyone off and no one wanted to talk anymore!

I’ve tried to comment again on your blog by using the link you gave me, but it still wouldn’t take it. So I logged out and logged back in again – but no, still wouldn’t let me comment. Soooo … I even went to the extreme of changing my password and THEN tried to comment on your last post on your blog – but even that didn’t make it happy.

Each time it happens it tries to make me sign into WordPress by giving me what looks like the WP sign in box – but my puter won’t let me use it because it’s telling me it’s sending my details to another site. Last time, after I changed my password, I even had a bar appear along the top of the page saying that my protection had stopped the site from sending me to another site.

There must be a fault somewhere in the coding of your new site. Get on to WP – they have brilliant techie guy and gals who sort these sorts of problems out with the blink of an eye. They were absolutely fan-bloomin-tastic when I had a problem some weeks ago. Amazing people – and so nice too!

Hope you can sort it out soon. I hate not being able to comment and chat with you. Great post by the way. Yellow … I know EXACTLY what you mean about it. I once painted my dining room in my previous cottage, a lovely buttery yellow. At least … that’s what I thought I was doing. The paint hadn’t even dried before I was back in the car buying a tin of white to paint over it.

Have to say though … I love your craft room colour. It’s still a ‘soft’ shade. I’m certain that once you get some of your furnishings in there, things will start to look better to you. Well done on the re-fit! ~ Cobs. x

          1. I think I fixed it. It was my Akismet (Spelling?) Plug-in that doesn’t allow “SPAM”. The downside was it considered EVERYTHING spam. Funny thing, if Akismet was on my phone I’d be in love with it. My site, not so much. 🙂

Of course I found that out after searching for every other problem in the book. I’m very familiar with the WP ‘ask a tech’ staff. When I have a question I just open up that chat box. Same with HostGator (my self hosting site). Jason, Justin and Mike have all been very nice. Not too happy with the woman (forget her name) but only because she sent me to Mike.

Thanks for trying so hard. I do appreciate it. I didn’t think I was abandoned, I thought I was just on a different ‘road’ and no one knew how to get there to stop by.

Funny about your buttery yellow. We must be lazier than you because we didn’t get in the car to repaint for at least 10 hours. We finished in the evening/night. The next morning we nearly lost our corneas it was so bright.

            1. SO glad that you found out what the problem was. I’ll be able to post comments now. I hated visiting, reading and then walking away without leaving you a note. It felt like being invited to tea, sitting down at the table, drinking, eating your cake and biscuits and then leaving without saying ‘Thank You’. Such bad manners!

Next time I’m invited for tea a read, I’ll be able to say thank you for a great read, by leaving you a note!

    1. {nods} I hadn’t heard (read) it before either. It touched me so much that I had to share it.
I’m off to look at your fabulous new Etsy shop, Elaine. I’m trying to save money, so I hope that I have a strong enough will to resist your wonderful creations.
