‘Once Upon a Time Sunday’ is a very special day in the Faerie calendar, for it is a day when all the young-lady faeries come out at sunset for a late evening picnic with her parents and friends, ~  and when all the young gentlemen faeries make themselves useful by showing how attentive they can be by being very helpful and waiting to fulfill the lady Faeries every wish.  Some will be waiters who serve up the very finest nectar.  Others will bring food offerings to fairy toadstool tables,  which are meant to impress the young lady faeries and hopefully make them flutter their wings at them – a sure sign that the lady likes what she is being fed and likes the young male faerie who is serving it to her.

Naturally all the girl faeries want to dress up in their very best and finest faerie gowns.  Some will even go shopping especially for outfits which will draw attention to them.   The Make a Wish’ Faerie dress is exactly one of those dresses.

You cannot fail to notice:

  • The Bodice  of shimmering Cabric, – (a magical, mirrored type textile known only to the Land of Fae)  all sewn  and embroidered with the rarest golden thread.
  • The braided shoulder straps –  there not to hold up the dress, but more to draw attention to a flirtatious shoulder.
  • The delicate,  almost gauze-like,  gossamer skirt, made from the finest spider silk,  (spun by spiderlings known for their ballooning skills) .  Only the most sparkling golden of these delicate strands are collected by Faery Weavers and made into a breathtaking faerie fabric so light that you and I can only feel it gently tickle our skin as we walk unknowingly into the silk strands and feel it catch upon our faces and bodies.

Last but certainly not least are the incredible ‘Once Upon a Time Sunday’ Faerie Wings.  Although they ‘look’  like they’re butterfly wings, they actually aren’t.    The wings are made from  . . .  bird feathers!    The feathers are collected by the  Flights of Fantasy Faeries  who dye, cut, colour, adorn,  and bring to life the feathers in such a way that you cannot fail to be mesmerised by them.  Enchanting, aren’t they!

  • As the Flights of Fantasy Faeries say:   “Feathers aren’t just for birds to wear!”

Hello. I'm 'Cobwebs'. I live in a wee little cottage in the South of England, aptly called Cobweb Cottage. This little dwelling really is a cobweb factory. Not inside (well, occasionally) - but outside - flipping heck! This information should give you a clue as to why my blog is called The Art of Cobwebs aka: The Cobweborium Emporium. I've been arty and crafty from a very young age, and although my crafts have sometimes turned a corner and taken me in another direction, I've always crafted in some way, shape or form. One day, in the blink of an eye, life changed somewhat for me and the consequences were many. I had to find a new way of being 'artistic'. Card making; scrap-booking; producing ATC's and ACEO's; needle felting; Polymer clay; painting- but in a more relaxed style than I had before, and sewing, - are all things which I visit, as and when life allows. I've fairy recently become a Textile Artist and am enjoying this new creative outlet very much as it offers me so much scope for letting my imagination run through a grassy field and feel the wind in my hair - (mentally, of course). I love to create. To make things. I truthfully believe that the best gifts in the world are those in which you've given your time, rather than your cash. Thank you so much for visiting. Please visit my blog (link below) and have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something to enjoy, even if it's only a handful of jokes! (yes, seriously - there really are jokes!) Wishing you a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. <3
